Spend the day riding through forest trails, mountain routes and open countryside in one of Bulgaria’s best outdoor regions. With the choice of exploring Pamporovo Fun Park or the wider Rhodope mountain trails around Smolyan, this private cycling experience can be tailored to suit the kind of ride you want most.
The experience begins in Pamporovo, a mountain resort surrounded by forests, rolling hills and purpose-built biking routes. Riders can choose between the trails within Pamporovo Fun Park or more scenic mountain biking routes around the Rhodope Mountains near Smolyan, depending on the style of adventure they prefer.
For those wanting extra support and local knowledge, a private guide can lead the ride while adapting the pace and route to match the group’s confidence level. Self-guided riders receive a personalised electronic guide filled with maps, route notes and logistics information that can be loaded onto a mobile device for independent exploration.
Throughout the ride, expect a mixture of mountain scenery, woodland sections and open viewpoints with plenty of opportunities to stop for photos and breaks along the way. The varied terrain keeps the experience exciting without becoming overly technical, making it a great option for active beginners and regular cyclists alike.
Pamporovo sits high in the Rhodope Mountains and is one of Bulgaria’s best-known mountain resorts for outdoor activities throughout the year. The surrounding forests and mountain trails create ideal conditions for cycling, with cooler temperatures and quieter natural surroundings compared to the cities below.
The wider Rhodope region is famous for its peaceful atmosphere, rolling hills and endless woodland landscapes. Around Smolyan, riders can explore quieter mountain routes that pass through scenic countryside areas far away from busy tourist crowds.

Comfortable outdoor clothing and suitable footwear are advised for the experience. Guests should also bring water, weather-appropriate layers and any personal essentials needed during the ride.
Flexible route options allow riders to create the type of mountain biking experience that suits them best, whether that means flowing bike park trails or scenic mountain routes through the Rhodopes. Smaller private experiences also make it easier to enjoy the ride at a relaxed pace without feeling rushed.
Quality equipment, organised logistics and detailed route planning help keep the experience smooth from start to finish. Guided and self-guided options also give guests the freedom to choose how adventurous or independent they want the day to feel.
Pamporovo Fun Park offers purpose-built biking routes designed for flowing downhill sections, forest tracks and more structured mountain biking terrain. It’s ideal for riders wanting a bike park atmosphere with clearly defined trails and varied riding features.
