Mountain biking in Bubión offers more than just great trails. Every guided ride includes coaching and skills development, giving riders the opportunity to improve technique, gain confidence, and become more efficient on challenging terrain while enjoying an unforgettable riding holiday in the Sierra Nevada mountains.
Unlike traditional coaching courses, skills development is integrated into your guided riding experience. Whether you're joining for a single day, a long weekend, or a full week, your guide will provide ongoing advice and coaching throughout the trip, helping you improve naturally as you ride.
The trails around Bubión are ideal for progression thanks to their variety and the opportunity to ride similar terrain across multiple days. As riders become familiar with trail features and obstacles, they can focus less on what's around the next corner and more on how they approach it. This allows confidence and technique to develop steadily throughout the holiday.
Coaching may cover areas such as bike and suspension setup, body positioning, balance, cornering, line choice, braking control, and technical descending. Riders can also discuss personal goals before the trip, allowing guides to focus on specific areas where improvement is desired. From tight switchbacks and flowing singletrack to steep rocky sections and technical descents, the terrain provides excellent opportunities to develop a broad range of mountain biking skills.
Located high in the Alpujarras region on the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada, Bubión is surrounded by some of Spain's most varied mountain biking terrain. Ancient mule tracks, mountain trails, rocky descents, and flowing sections combine to create an exceptional riding environment for experienced mountain bikers.
The village itself is known for its traditional whitewashed architecture, narrow streets, and mountain setting. Surrounded by dramatic peaks and deep valleys, the area offers a completely different riding experience from coastal destinations while providing access to an extensive network of natural trails.
These guided rides are designed for riders with previous mountain biking experience who are comfortable riding technical trails. Confidence on red-grade terrain is recommended to fully enjoy the routes and coaching opportunities available.
A willingness to learn and improve is equally important. Whether your goal is to refine existing skills or tackle more challenging terrain with greater confidence, the coaching can be adapted to your personal objectives.
Every ride benefits from the experience of guides who are not only accomplished mountain bikers but also trained coaches. Michael brings more than 35 years of riding experience, including a professional downhill racing background and decades of helping riders improve their technique both on and off the trail.
Rather than separating coaching from the riding experience, skills development is woven naturally into each day. This approach allows riders to learn in real trail conditions while enjoying some of the most rewarding mountain biking terrain available in southern Spain.
No. Coaching is included as part of the guided riding experience rather than being delivered as a separate formal course.
