Combining skiing and mountain biking in a single trip sounds almost impossible, yet the Sierra Nevada makes it a reality. This unique long weekend combines time on the slopes with guided enduro riding, allowing participants to enjoy two adventure sports in one unforgettable experience.
Starting high in Spain's premier ski resort before moving into the mountains around Bubión, the trip offers everything from ski runs and off-piste descents to technical singletrack and long mountain-to-sea rides. With accommodation, transfers, lift passes, guiding and shuttles organised for you, the focus remains firmly on enjoying the mountains and making the most of every day.
For more than two decades, the team has been creating mountain biking experiences in southern Spain and introducing riders to terrain that was once largely unknown outside the local area. Their experience operating guided mountain bike holidays, combined with extensive local knowledge of both the Sierra Nevada mountains and Bubión trail networks, allows them to deliver a seamless multi-sport adventure.
Michael and the guiding team bring decades of riding, racing and coaching experience to every trip. Combined with qualified local ski guides, carefully planned logistics, and vehicle support throughout the weekend, participants can focus entirely on enjoying the experience without worrying about transport, route planning, or changing mountain conditions.
Arrival is at Malaga Airport, where the group is collected and transferred into the Sierra Nevada mountains. The journey climbs to the ski station at around 2,800 metres above sea level, where you'll settle into your accommodation and prepare for the weekend ahead.
Depending on arrival times, there may be an opportunity to explore the resort area, organise equipment, and enjoy dinner before the first full day on the slopes.
After breakfast, step straight onto the slopes and enjoy a full day of skiing or snowboarding. Sierra Nevada offers a wide range of terrain suitable for different ability levels, from gentle pistes through to more challenging runs.
As the day progresses, you'll have the opportunity to explore different areas of the resort while enjoying spectacular mountain views. Accommodation, breakfast, dinner and lift passes are all included, allowing you to maximise your time on the snow.
The highlight of the trip begins with an ascent to approximately 3,400 metres. Guided by qualified ski professionals, you'll descend off-piste down the southern face of the Sierra Nevada mountains, choosing routes suited to the group's experience level.
Waiting below is a support vehicle carrying your mountain biking equipment. After a quick changeover, the adventure continues as you begin an extraordinary enduro descent towards the Mediterranean. Covering up to 75 kilometres and around 4,000 metres of vertical descent, the route links mountain trails, singletrack and natural terrain before eventually reaching the coast. Following time by the beach, the group transfers to Bubión for the next stage of the trip.
The focus now shifts fully to mountain biking. Based in one of Spain's most renowned enduro destinations, you'll spend the day exploring the extensive trail network surrounding Bubión.
Thanks to extensive shuttle support, the majority of climbing is completed by vehicle, allowing riders to maximise descending time. Expect a mixture of technical singletrack, rocky sections, flowing trails, switchbacks and long descents through dramatic mountain scenery.
After breakfast, it's time to leave the mountains behind and return to Malaga Airport.
The transfer provides a final opportunity to reflect on a weekend that combines two very different mountain sports into one memorable adventure.
The trip includes accommodation in two distinct mountain locations. During the skiing portion of the weekend, guests stay within the Sierra Nevada ski station, providing convenient access to the slopes and allowing more time on the snow.
Following the mountain-to-sea descent, accommodation moves to Bubión, where participants stay in comfortable hotel accommodation while exploring the surrounding enduro trails. Breakfast is included throughout the trip, alongside evening meals during the skiing portion of the weekend.
Participants should already be comfortable with both activities. The trip is designed around enjoying the terrain rather than learning either sport from scratch.
Experience on mountain trails and confidence skiing or snowboarding on a variety of slopes will help you get the most from the weekend.
The famous descent combines off-piste skiing with a lengthy mountain bike ride featuring a significant amount of descending terrain.
While much of the route is downhill, riders should be prepared for a physically demanding day and have previous mountain biking experience.
Yes. Ski equipment and enduro mountain bikes can be arranged if required.
This makes it possible to travel with minimal luggage while still taking part in the full experience.
Mountain biking takes place during the mountain-to-sea descent and throughout the Bubión portion of the trip.
The shuttle-supported format allows riders to maximise descending time while reducing the amount of climbing required.
A full-suspension enduro mountain bike is strongly recommended for the terrain encountered during the trip.
Suitable rental bikes are available for those not bringing their own equipment.
Yes. Ski lift passes are included as part of the package.
This allows participants to make the most of their time on the slopes without additional resort costs.
Accommodation is provided in both Sierra Nevada and Bubión, allowing participants to experience two very different mountain environments.
The accommodation is comfortable, well located and selected to support the logistics of the trip.
