This combined bike and river experience is an efficient way to cover central London’s royal, political, and cultural landmarks in a single half day. Cycling keeps distances manageable, while the included river cruise adds a slower-paced view of the city from the Thames.
The tour begins with bike fitting and a short safety briefing before setting off through central London. Riding at a controlled pace, the route links major landmarks using cycle-friendly streets and park paths where possible. Your guide provides context at each stop, covering how royal, political, and public life intersect in the city today.
You’ll ride through Westminster to see Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, stopping nearby to discuss how modern government operates within centuries-old buildings. From there, the route continues past Westminster Abbey before heading towards Trafalgar Square and the ceremonial heart of the capital. Timing permitting, the guide positions the group to view the Changing of the Guard near Buckingham Palace.
The latter part of the ride moves through green space, circling the Serpentine in Hyde Park before returning towards the river. After the bike tour, you’re free to use your included 24-hour Thames cruise ticket, travelling between Westminster and Greenwich at your own pace. This allows you to continue sightseeing independently from the water, either immediately or later the same day.
The meeting point is close to central transport links on the South Bank, making it easy to reach from most parts of London. Starting south of the river allows quick access to Westminster without lengthy road sections.
The river cruise operates between Westminster and Greenwich, passing major riverside sights and offering flexible boarding throughout the validity period.
All participants must be able to ride a bicycle confidently on city streets and shared paths. Children are welcome provided they can ride independently and are accompanied by an adult.
Attachments such as tag-a-longs and trailers are not permitted on this tour for group safety. E-bike riders must be at least 14 years old. A responsible adult must accompany anyone under 18.
This experience combines two efficient ways to see London: cycling for street-level detail and a river cruise for wider context. It’s particularly useful if you want structure without committing to a full-day guided programme.
Small group sizes and experienced local guides keep the tour manageable, informative, and well-paced. The included cruise ticket adds flexibility, letting you continue exploring without additional planning.
The route is designed to use quieter streets, cycle lanes, and parks where possible. The pace is steady, with frequent stops.
You should be comfortable riding a bike in an urban environment, but no advanced cycling skills are required.
The river cruise is not guided by the bike tour guide. It operates as a hop-on, hop-off service with commentary provided on board.
You can use the cruise independently at any point within the 24-hour validity.
No. Your ticket is valid for 24 hours from first use, starting on the selected date.
