Cycle through the heart of Rome on an e-bike and combine sightseeing with a unique culinary experience. Glide past iconic monuments, hidden squares, and historic streets before entering a secret underground cave for a tasting of regional cheeses, cured meats, and local wine. A private guide option is available for a fully personalised tour.
Begin your tour riding along the Tiber Cycle Path, passing Tiber Island, historic piazzas, and the winding streets of the Jewish Ghetto. Your guide shares stories of Roman history, architecture, and local traditions while you glide effortlessly past landmarks, enjoying a combination of culture and cycling.
Continue through Trastevere, Campo de’ Fiori, and the streets surrounding Piazza Navona, observing centuries-old architecture and local life. The pace is relaxed, allowing stops to admire key monuments, hidden corners, and scenic viewpoints.
The highlight of the tour is the visit to Testaccio’s Urban Aging Cave (Grotta di Affinamento Urbano). Here, sample four types of regional cheeses, four cured meats, a glass of paired local wine, and crispy pizza scrocchiarella. This underground experience offers a sensory perspective on Roman culinary traditions while resting and enjoying the flavors of Lazio.
Return through central streets and along the Tiber River path to complete the ride. The combination of cycling, history, and food makes this a varied and enjoyable tour suitable for most participants.
The tour winds through Rome’s historic centre, following streets and cycle paths that are mostly traffic-free. Key landmarks include Tiber Island, Piazza Navona, Trastevere, Campo de’ Fiori, and the Jewish Ghetto. Routes are chosen for safety while giving access to both well-known sights and hidden alleys full of local character.
The Testaccio district, home to the Urban Aging Cave, is a unique location combining centuries of history with Roman culinary traditions. This area was historically a hub of commerce and now offers an underground experience unlike any other in the city.
Riders should have basic cycling experience in urban settings. Children under 12 must use bike extensions or trailers, while infants up to 20 kg can use provided child seats. Closed-toe shoes, suitable clothing for cycling, and water are recommended. Following the guide’s safety instructions is mandatory at all times.
Experienced guides combine local culinary knowledge with historical insight, sharing stories behind Rome’s street food, landmarks, and hidden corners. Small groups and private tour options ensure a personalised and relaxed pace while enjoying the city’s flavours.
All e-bikes, helmets, and locks are provided to guarantee comfort and safety. Every stop is carefully selected to showcase authentic Roman cuisine and culture, making this tour a unique combination of cycling, tasting, and sightseeing in one package.
Light rain doesn’t affect the running of the tour, so the activity goes ahead as planned. Participants are offered complimentary waterproof ponchos to keep them comfortable throughout, and the guide adjusts the pace if needed to suit the conditions. Many groups enjoy the experience just as much in gentle rain, especially with the extra layer provided.
More severe conditions, such as heavy rain or thunderstorms, mean the tour cannot run safely. If this happens, the session is cancelled and the full amount paid is refunded. Safety is the guiding factor in these decisions, and updates are passed on as early as possible so participants know exactly what to expect.
We welcome a wide range of ages on our e-bike tours, and the equipment provided is matched carefully to each rider. Younger children can join using either a rear baby seat for ages 1–5 (up to 20 kg) or a trailer bike for ages 6–9, both of which are securely attached to an adult’s e-bike. From age 10 onward, children may ride their own e-bike if they have solid independent cycling experience and are at least 140 cm tall, though we generally recommend independent riding from age 11.
There are also a few upper limits to keep everyone safe and comfortable. The maximum recommended age for participants is 75, and the weight limit for any rider or equipment setup is 100 kg. These guidelines help ensure each bike performs as intended and that every participant enjoys a smooth and controlled ride.
Our regular tours operate with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 8 participants, which keeps each outing comfortable and well-paced. These small-group limits apply to standard daily departures, ensuring riders receive plenty of guidance and support from the team throughout the experience.
For larger parties, the capacity expands significantly. The centre is fully equipped to organise multiple groups at the same time and can handle single bookings far above the usual numbers, with the ability to accommodate up to 80 participants in one coordinated session. This structure allows big groups to enjoy the same quality of service while moving through the route smoothly and safely.
No. The tasting includes shared samples of four types of cheeses, four cured meats, a glass of local wine, and pizza scrocchiarella. It is designed as a light culinary experience, not a full meal.
Infants (up to 20 kg / 44 lbs) can ride in a child seat for free. Children under 139 cm / 4ft 7in must use bike extensions or trailers. The minimum age for riding an e-bike independently is 12 years old.
Bring comfortable clothing for cycling, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, and a water bottle. Helmets are provided.
Private tours offer exclusive access to your guide and more flexibility with the pace and stops. You can linger at favourite tastings or focus on landmarks that interest your group, making it ideal for families, friends, or small groups seeking a tailored experience.
Private tours also allow for customised commentary and storytelling, giving a richer cultural and culinary experience than the group tour. You may adjust the timing or order of stops to suit your preferences while maintaining safety and enjoyment.
The meeting point is at Lungotevere delle Armi, 44. By public transport, hop off at Metro A (Red Line) Lepanto station and walk approximately 5 minutes.
