🌿 What to Expect

The day begins with private pickup from San Jose, followed by a drive through rural countryside towards an adventure park located within reach of rainforest and coastal terrain. On arrival, you’ll meet your guide and receive a safety briefing before starting a two-hour ATV experience. The route takes you along off-road trails that cut through forest sections, uneven terrain and open natural areas, with stops along the way at waterfalls and natural pools depending on conditions.

After the ATV portion, the experience continues towards the Tárcoles River for a guided boat safari. Here, you’ll travel along calm waters known for their crocodile population, with your guide pointing out wildlife along the riverbanks and explaining the local ecosystem. Following the boat tour, there is time to relax before the return journey to San Jose begins later in the afternoon.

📍 Location

The experience takes place across Costa Rica’s Central Pacific region, an area that connects rainforest zones with coastal ecosystems. The terrain includes forested trails, river crossings and rural landscapes shaped by agriculture and protected natural areas.

The Tárcoles River is one of the country’s best-known wildlife rivers, flowing towards the Pacific Ocean. It is especially recognised for its large crocodile population, which can often be observed from the riverbanks and bridges under controlled, guided conditions.

⚠️ Prerequisites

No previous ATV experience is required as full instruction is provided before the ride begins. Participants are shown how to operate the vehicles safely and guided throughout the route.

A reasonable level of mobility is needed to handle uneven terrain and get on and off the ATV. Comfort with outdoor conditions such as heat, dust and occasional wet surfaces is recommended.

🌱 Why Choose Us

Private tours are designed to combine adventure and wildlife experiences without the structure or pace of larger group departures. This allows more flexibility throughout the day and a smoother transition between activities.

Experienced guides manage both the ATV route and river safari, providing instruction, local knowledge and safety support throughout. The mix of rainforest trails and river wildlife viewing creates a varied day showcasing different sides of Costa Rica’s natural environment.
