Gliding silently above the water is one of the most unique experiences available in watersports. Using electrically powered hydrofoil boards, this eFoil adventure allows you to experience the feeling of flight without relying on wind or waves, making it one of the most accessible ways to learn hydrofoiling.
Your experience begins with a detailed introduction to the eFoil board, safety systems and the basic principles behind hydrofoil technology. Before entering the water, your instructor will explain how the electric propulsion system works, how the foil generates lift and the techniques used to control the board safely. Understanding these foundations helps make the learning process much smoother once you're on the water.
The first practical stage takes place from a kneeling position, allowing you to become familiar with the board's controls and behaviour without worrying about standing immediately. As your confidence grows, you'll gradually progress to standing and learning how subtle shifts in body weight affect the foil beneath the board. Most students are surprised by how quickly they begin to understand the relationship between balance, speed and lift.
As the lesson develops, you'll begin experiencing the true highlight of eFoiling: rising above the water and gliding smoothly across the bay. Unlike many watersports, there is no dependence on wind conditions, allowing you to focus entirely on technique and enjoyment. Using premium SiFly boards, you'll receive dedicated coaching designed to help you achieve stable, controlled flights and enjoy one of the most memorable experiences available on the water.
Pollensa Bay offers an excellent environment for eFoiling thanks to its open water areas and favourable conditions. The spacious surroundings provide plenty of room to learn while enjoying views across one of Mallorca's most popular watersports locations.
The waterfront base features hot showers, changing rooms, exclusive student areas, a swimming pool and a sea-facing bar and restaurant. These facilities make it easy to relax before or after your session and enjoy everything the area has to offer.
No previous eFoil or hydrofoil experience is required. The lesson is suitable for complete beginners and is often recommended as one of the easiest ways to learn the fundamentals of hydrofoil riding.
Participants should bring sunglasses, sunscreen, a towel and drinks. Basic confidence in the water is helpful, but the lesson is designed to accommodate first-time riders with no previous foil experience.
eFoiling offers a unique opportunity to experience hydrofoil riding without the added complexity of managing a wing, kite or boat tow. This makes it one of the most effective ways to learn foil control while enjoying an exciting and accessible watersports experience.
Training takes place using premium SiFly boards and is delivered by experienced instructors who focus on helping students progress comfortably and safely. Combined with excellent facilities and favourable conditions, the result is a high-quality introduction to hydrofoil technology and riding.
An eFoil is an electric-powered hydrofoil board that rises above the water as speed increases. A battery-powered motor provides propulsion, allowing riders to experience hydrofoil flight without relying on wind or waves.
The sensation is often described as flying just above the surface of the water. Once the foil lifts, the ride becomes exceptionally smooth and quiet compared to traditional watersports.
No previous experience is necessary. The lesson has been designed for complete beginners and introduces each stage of the learning process gradually.
Many participants have never used a hydrofoil before and are often surprised by how quickly they become comfortable with the board under professional instruction.
Most people find eFoiling more approachable than expected because the power delivery is controlled electronically and remains consistent throughout the session.
The structured progression from kneeling to standing allows riders to develop confidence step by step rather than being rushed into advanced techniques too quickly.
Beginning from a kneeling position helps students understand the controls and how the board responds before introducing the challenge of standing.
This method creates a stable platform for learning and helps reduce unnecessary falls while building confidence with the equipment.
Many first-time riders experience their first controlled hydrofoil flights during their initial lesson, although progression naturally varies from person to person.
Your instructor will work at a pace suited to your ability level and focus on helping you develop the skills required for smooth, stable riding.
Unlike activities that depend on wind, waves or towing, eFoiling uses an electric motor to generate speed and lift whenever required.
This allows riders to focus purely on balance and technique while enjoying a remarkably smooth sensation once the board rises above the water.
