Session Breakdown

The Tow Foil Progression Clinic focuses on getting you comfortable with the foil and learning to maintain stability while on it. The clinic is structured to ensure you gain the essential skills in a step-by-step process:

1. Foil Setup:
Learn how to safely attach and set up the foil to the board, ensuring everything is properly balanced and secure.

2. Getting on Foil:
With the assistance of our wakeboard cable system, you'll practise getting onto the foil. The smooth, consistent tow from the cable helps you focus on maintaining balance and finding the right stance.

3. Building Confidence:
As you gain more time on the foil, the goal is to increase your confidence and control. Many people start getting the hang of it towards the end of the first session, with noticeable improvement during a second session.

The goal is to get you confidently on the foil. Depending on your previous experience and ability, this may take more than one session, but once you’ve mastered this, the addictive world of foiling opens up to you.

Location

The Tow Foil Progression Clinic takes place at Hove Lagoon, a safe, shallow lagoon perfect for learning to foil. As you progress, we may move sessions to the sea for a more advanced challenge, but the controlled environment of the lagoon is ideal for your first experience on a foil.

Prerequisites

This course is suitable for complete beginners. However, if you're learning to Wing Foil, we recommend first completing the Wingsurf Taster and Improvers Courses. Participants should be reasonably fit and flexible, as this session can be physically demanding.
