🗺️ Itinerary Overview

The route begins with time in Kathmandu and Pokhara before entering the southern Annapurna region via the Kali Gandaki valley. From Galeshwor, the trail climbs gradually through Magar and Gurung villages, forested ridges, and community-run eco-lodges, keeping the focus on local life as much as mountain scenery.

The high point at Mohare Danda sits on an open ridge with views across the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machapuchre ranges, particularly at sunrise and sunset. The descent connects with more established trails near Ghorepani and Ghandruk before finishing at Syauli Bazar, giving a balanced mix of quieter paths and classic Annapurna viewpoints.

📍 Location

This trek runs through the southern Annapurna region, starting near the Kali Gandaki valley and finishing at Syauli Bazar. The landscape is defined by terraced farmland, mixed forest, and traditional hill villages rather than extreme altitude.

By combining community-run sections with well-known Annapurna viewpoints, the route offers strong scenery and cultural insight while avoiding long stretches on the busiest trails.

🧗 Prerequisites

This trek suits people with a reasonable level of fitness who are comfortable walking for several hours a day. Some days involve long ascents, particularly on the approach to Mohare Danda, but no technical skills are required.

You should be prepared for basic accommodation in eco-lodges and teahouses, shared facilities, and variable mountain weather. Previous trekking experience is helpful but not essential.
