Gain essential first aid knowledge and practical skills to confidently handle emergencies in the workplace. Over three days, you’ll learn how to assess incidents, provide immediate care for injuries and illnesses, and use life-saving equipment such as an AED. Whether you’re an employer meeting health and safety requirements or simply want to be prepared, this recognised qualification equips you with vital abilities that could make all the difference.
Across three engaging days, you’ll develop the competence and confidence to act effectively in a range of emergency scenarios. The course begins with understanding the role and responsibilities of a first aider, learning how to assess incidents, and practising core life-saving techniques such as CPR. You’ll also explore how to identify and respond to common workplace issues, including shock, bleeding, and burns.
Day two and three take your knowledge further, focusing on the recognition and management of illnesses and injuries, such as chest and spinal injuries, fractures, and anaphylaxis. Each session is interactive and hands-on, ensuring you can apply your knowledge in real-world situations. The training concludes with the use of AED equipment and practical assessment, giving you a solid foundation to act quickly and effectively in emergencies.
Training takes place in Nuneaton, Warwickshire (CV11 6RP), offering an accessible and welcoming environment for learners. The venue provides a professional yet relaxed space that allows participants to focus comfortably on practical learning.
Nuneaton is conveniently located with excellent transport links from surrounding towns and cities, making it easy to reach by car or public transport. The area offers a range of amenities for refreshments and breaks, adding to a smooth and enjoyable training experience.
Learners must be physically capable of carrying out all first aid procedures required by the course, including CPR and patient handling. Full attendance across all three days is essential to achieve the qualification.
No prior medical experience is required, making this an ideal course for beginners as well as those refreshing their knowledge. Participants should come prepared for a practical, interactive environment that involves hands-on learning.
This centre has been providing high-quality health and safety training for over a decade, led by an experienced instructor who brings over thirty years of expertise in the field. The training style is friendly, professional, and supportive, helping learners feel confident while building essential skills.
The team believes in making first aid accessible and relevant, tailoring sessions to meet real workplace needs. With a focus on practical ability and understanding, every learner leaves prepared to respond calmly and competently when it matters most.
Upon successful completion, you’ll receive the HABC Level 3 First Aid at Work certificate, which is recognised nationally and valid for three years. This qualification meets Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements for workplace first aiders, making it suitable for a wide range of industries.
The certificate demonstrates that you’re trained to handle first aid emergencies confidently and competently in a professional setting. It also includes AED (Automated External Defibrillator) training, ensuring you’re up to date with modern first aid standards.
The first day focuses on the essential principles of first aid, such as understanding the role of a first aider, assessing incidents, and providing care for common workplace injuries and illnesses. Practical sessions ensure you gain confidence in applying what you’ve learned.
The second and third days build on these foundations, introducing more advanced topics such as chest and spinal injuries, anaphylaxis, and the use of an AED. You’ll take part in scenarios and hands-on practice sessions to reinforce your skills before final assessment.
This course is designed for anyone who needs to be a designated first aider at work or wants to develop the confidence to handle emergencies. It’s especially relevant for those working in environments identified as medium or high risk during a company risk assessment.
However, it’s also open to individuals who simply want to gain valuable life skills. Whether you work in an office, warehouse, or community role, the knowledge gained here can make a real difference in emergency situations.
Assessment is continuous throughout the three days and is based on practical demonstrations and oral questioning. Your instructor will guide you through each element, ensuring you understand and can perform each skill safely and correctly.
There is no formal written exam, so the focus is on hands-on ability and real-world understanding. The approach is supportive and designed to help you feel confident rather than pressured.
No previous experience is required. The course is open to beginners as well as those who may have held a first aid qualification in the past and wish to refresh or update their knowledge.
The sessions are structured to start with the basics before progressing to more complex techniques. Every step is explained clearly, so all participants can follow along comfortably regardless of background or skill level.
You should wear comfortable clothing suitable for practical work, as you’ll be kneeling and moving around during exercises. It’s also a good idea to bring a notebook, pen, and a bottle of water.
Lunch is not included, so you may want to bring your own food or visit one of the nearby cafés or shops during the break. All other course materials and equipment will be provided for you.
