We are easily accessible by road, located at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy on Osprey Quay, Portland, Dorset, DT5 1SA. From Weymouth, follow signs to Portland, take a left at the first roundabout after the causeway, and look for signs to the academy.
For train travelers, direct services connect us to London Waterloo, Bristol Temple Meads, and Southampton. Bus routes 1 or 601 from Weymouth train station stop near the academy.
The half-day windsurfing session lasts for 3 hours, while the full-day session offers 7 hours of tuition.
Each session provides a great opportunity to learn and practice windsurfing, with plenty of time to develop your skills under the guidance of an experienced instructor.
Our sessions are suitable for children and adults from 8 years old and up.
No prior windsurfing experience is required, making it an accessible option for beginners of all ages.
Participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of windsurfing, including equipment setup, basic sailing techniques, steering, and safety on the water.
The goal is to give you a solid foundation and the confidence to manoeuvre a windsurf board.
We recommend bringing swimwear to wear under the wetsuit, a towel, sunscreen, and a hat for sun protection. You may also want to bring water and a snack, especially for the full day session.
Many participants choose to progress to our full 2-day RYA Start Windsurfing Course, which builds upon the skills learned during the taster session.
This next step is designed to deepen your understanding and proficiency in windsurfing, preparing you for more advanced levels. You can book this at the bottom of this page.
