Youth Wing Camps offer an action-packed opportunity for young watersports enthusiasts to develop their skills on the water. With expert tuition and a structured programme, these camps cater to all abilities, from beginners taking their first steps to experienced riders looking to refine their technique. Whether attending for a single day or the full week, participants will benefit from professional coaching in a fun and supportive environment.
Each day begins with a briefing, covering the plan for the session, safety procedures, and an assessment of wind and tide conditions. Beginners will start with the basics, learning how to handle the wing on land before moving onto the water to practise steering and controlling speed. Intermediate and advanced riders will refine their technique, working on transitions, upwind riding, and foiling skills where appropriate.
Sessions are tailored to suit different ability levels, with a mix of group coaching and individual feedback. Younger riders will progress through structured exercises designed to build their skills step by step, ensuring a fun and rewarding experience. The camp runs from 10:00 to 17:00 each day, with plenty of time on the water alongside breaks to rest and refuel. Facilities on-site include changing rooms, showers, and charging stations, making it easy to stay comfortable throughout the day.
Based at Osprey Quay, Portland, Dorset, DT5 1SA, the camp takes place in one of the UK’s top locations for wing sports. With consistent wind conditions and sheltered waters, Portland Harbour provides an ideal learning environment for all abilities.
The site is easily accessible by road and has free parking available.
These camps are open to all levels, from complete beginners to advanced riders. Those new to the sport must attend at least the first one or two days to ensure they progress through the basics before moving onto more advanced skills.
Intermediate and advanced riders can choose which days to attend based on their goals. Once booked, a team member will get in touch to assess ability levels and ensure participants are placed in the right group.
With years of experience in watersports instruction, the team is passionate about providing high-quality coaching in a safe and supportive setting. Sessions are led by qualified instructors who tailor each day to the needs of the group, ensuring steady progression for every participant.
The centre is known for offering some of the best facilities in the UK for wing sports, including access to top-of-the-line equipment and an ideal location for learning. With a strong focus on safety, skill development, and enjoyment, young riders will leave the camp with new confidence and improved technique on the water.
