Free roam access to 100 acres of varied trialling terrain with natural features like streams, hill climbs and rocky sections. You’ll also have use of a purpose-built Trials Park packed with hundreds of sections designed for all ability levels—just bring your own trials bike and get riding.
When you arrive, check in at the shop to sign on and get a quick overview of the site layout. From there, you’ll have open access to the full 100-acre base, with a wide range of natural terrain features to explore at your own pace. Expect sections with bankings, rocks, woodland trails, and stream crossings, as well as flatter open ground if you’re still warming up. There's also a dedicated Forest Trail with a 10mph speed limit and two-way traffic—great for technical control and slower-paced riding.
The highlight for many riders is the multi-level Trials Park, which features hundreds of purpose-built sections arranged across three tiers. Whether you're brushing up on balance or testing advanced manoeuvres, the layout caters to a full range of ability levels. If you’re visiting during the winter months (November–March), please avoid riding on the bankings and hill climbs to help protect the land. The Forest Trail, streams and Trials Park remain open year-round.
There’s an on-site catering van open on weekends serving hot breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and drinks. During the week, you’ll need to bring your own food, but hot and cold drinks are available in the shop. If you're staying nearby and don't want to transport your bike back and forth, secure overnight storage is available for up to three nights, with prior arrangement.
Set in Whitewell near Clitheroe in the Ribble Valley, the venue is surrounded by beautiful Lancashire countryside and well away from busy roads. It’s an ideal location for trials riders wanting to get off the beaten track and enjoy technical terrain in a peaceful, scenic setting.
Easily accessible by road, the site is well-signposted with on-site parking available. You're only a short drive from Clitheroe itself, which has a range of accommodation options, shops and amenities if you're planning to make a full day or weekend of it.
This session is for riders with their own trials bikes—either petrol or electric. Push bikes are not allowed on the course. You should be confident riding off-road and able to judge your own ability safely across varied terrain.
You do not need an instructor or guide, but please respect all site signage and boundaries. There may be training groups on site, so maintain space from others and follow the rules for shared areas like the Forest Trail.
This is one of the few venues in the UK where you can access such a large and diverse area for self-guided trials riding. With 100 acres of natural and purpose-built terrain, you can tailor your ride however you like—whether that’s pushing your limits or simply spending a few hours fine-tuning your skills.
The site is well-maintained, friendly and rider-focused. With weekend catering, secure bike storage, and flexible booking options, everything is set up to make your ride as easy and enjoyable as possible. Online booking is recommended to speed up sign-in and secure your spot, especially on busy days.
Only motorcycle trials bikes—either petrol or electric—are allowed for Pay & Play. These sessions are not suitable for push bikes, mountain bikes or motocross-style bikes. Your bike must be specifically designed for trials riding to be permitted on the site.
The aim is to provide a safe and consistent experience for all riders, so having the right bike is essential. If you're unsure whether your bike is suitable, it’s best to contact the team in advance before booking.
Online booking is highly recommended to help manage numbers on site and ensure a smooth sign-in process when you arrive. It also allows the staff to know who to expect and helps avoid overcrowding during busy periods.
While walk-ins may sometimes be accepted if space allows, there's no guarantee. Riders with a Pay & Play membership must book online in advance—this is a condition of the membership.
You’ll have free roam across 100 acres of varied terrain, including natural obstacles like rocky sections, steep bankings, flat open areas, stream crossings, and woodland trails. It’s well suited to riders who enjoy challenging themselves in different environments.
There’s also a purpose-built Trials Park spread over three levels. It includes hundreds of man-made and technical sections to suit a wide range of skill levels, from those fine-tuning their balance to more experienced riders looking to push limits.
Yes, the site caters for a wide range of skill levels. While some of the natural terrain and advanced Trials Park sections will challenge more experienced riders, there are plenty of easier sections, especially on the lower levels of the park and flatter parts of the open land.
The site is self-guided, so it's important that you ride within your own ability and take the time to familiarise yourself with different areas. If you're completely new to trials, it might be worth joining a separate instructed session before trying Pay & Play.
Yes. From November to March, riders are asked not to use the hill climbs and bankings in order to help protect the land from erosion. These sections are closed during the wetter months to ensure the site stays in good condition year-round.
You can still enjoy the rest of the area during this time. The Forest Trail, stream sections, and all levels of the Trials Park remain fully open for winter riding, so there's still plenty to explore.
An on-site catering van is open every Saturday and Sunday, offering hot breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and a range of hot and cold drinks. This is a convenient option if you're riding for the full day and want something warm and easy during your break.
From Monday to Friday, riders should bring their own food. However, hot and cold drinks are available in the shop throughout the week. There is no indoor seating, so prepare for outdoor eating.
Yes, secure overnight bike storage is available by prior arrangement. This service is useful if you’re staying in the area and don’t want the hassle of loading your bike up each day. The cost is £10 per bike, per night, for a maximum of three nights.
You’ll need to pre-book this with the team to ensure space is available. Storage is in a secure area, but riders are still responsible for insuring their bikes.
