The touring bikes come equipped with front suspension, extra gears, and a lightweight aluminium frame, ensuring that you can explore the surrounding regions of Noord-Holland comfortably and effortlessly.

Each bike is fitted with two locks (or three for e-bikes) for added security, as well as safety lights and anti-puncture tires. All bikes are carefully maintained to ensure a smooth ride, whether you’re navigating busy city streets or cycling through quieter areas. Our bike rental shop is located at Tesselschadestraat 1E, 1054 ET Amsterdam, right next to Vondelpark, one of the city's most popular green spaces. This central location provides easy access to some of Amsterdam’s top attractions, including the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, and the iconic canals. Whether you plan to cycle around the park or head out on a longer ride, you'll find that our shop is conveniently situated for all your cycling needs.

With easy access to public transport links, including tram and bus stops nearby, getting to our location is straightforward. The central location also allows for easy connections to bike paths that lead to other must-see areas of Amsterdam and beyond.

Prerequisites

No previous cycling experience is required for most bikes, though we recommend having a basic understanding of cycling in a city environment. While the city bikes are suitable for most riders, if you're planning a longer journey, the touring bike may offer more comfort.

The minimum height requirement for the touring bike is 160 cm (5.2 feet). If you’re unfamiliar with cycling in Amsterdam, we suggest familiarising yourself with local cycling etiquette to ensure a smooth and safe ride.

We offer bikes in two frame sizes to suit a range of adult riders, as well as children’s bikes in two different sizes to accommodate younger cyclists.

Each bike is fitted with adjustable saddles and handlebars, allowing you to customise the fit to your height and riding style. Whether you're tall, short, or somewhere in between, we’ll help you find a bike that’s comfortable and easy to handle.

To help prevent theft, every bike comes equipped with a robust locking system. Standard bikes include both a frame-mounted ring lock and a separate cable lock. E-bikes are fitted with an additional lock for extra security.

The ring lock secures the rear wheel, while the cable lock should be used to attach the bike to a fixed object such as a bike rack, gate, or lamp post. If you're riding with others, it’s also possible to chain your bikes together. Just double-check that you haven’t mistakenly locked your bike to someone else’s.

Wear comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement, and always dress appropriately for the weather. In cooler temperatures, dressing in layers works best—you may feel cold at first, but you’ll warm up quickly as you start pedalling.

Lightweight jackets, gloves, and scarves can be useful during colder months. Avoid tight trousers or clothing that might restrict your legs while riding, especially if you're planning a longer route. Footwear should be secure and suitable for pedalling.

Amsterdam is considered a safe city for cyclists, and there are no specific areas that are unsafe to ride in. That said, it's always wise to trust your instincts—if you’re cycling through a poorly lit or isolated street at night and it doesn’t feel right, choose a busier route.

Stick to marked cycle paths whenever possible, and be cautious in areas with heavy pedestrian traffic.

No, parking rules do apply in Amsterdam. Bikes should always be parked in designated bicycle racks or clearly marked parking areas, which are widely available throughout the city. Avoid parking in the middle of pavements, near entrances, or on roads, as improperly parked bikes may be removed.

Around key locations like train stations or popular spots such as Leidseplein, it's especially important to use official parking facilities to avoid fines or bike removal.

Our panniers have a maximum capacity of 14 litres, offering enough space to carry small bags, groceries, or personal items.

If you're planning to carry something heavier or bulkier, consider using a backpack as an alternative or additional option.

In the Netherlands, wearing a helmet is not mandatory for cyclists, but it is highly recommended for safety, particularly if you plan to cycle for longer distances or in busy areas.

While we don’t include helmets with every rental, we offer them as an optional extra for those who prefer the added protection. You can choose to rent a helmet with your bike to ensure you feel safe and secure while riding through Amsterdam.
