Hiring an e-bike is a great way to make the most of your time in Amsterdam—especially if you want to explore further afield without too much effort. These electric bikes offer just the right amount of support when you need it, making hills, headwinds, and longer distances much more manageable. Whether you're planning a quick loop around the canals or heading off for a full-day ride through the surrounding countryside, this service gives you the flexibility to choose what works for you.
Once you've collected your e-bike from one of four central locations, staff will help adjust the saddle and handlebars to fit your height. Each e-bike is equipped with 10 gears, hydraulic brakes, a dashboard display, and safety lights for day and night use. The battery has a range of up to 80 kilometres, and you'll be given a charger so you can top up if you're planning a full-day trip. If needed, just find a café with a power socket, plug in, and take a break while your battery charges.
Two locks come as standard: a ring lock for the rear wheel and a strong cable lock to secure the frame to a bike rack, post, or another fixed object. For group rentals, you can even lock bikes together. Anti-puncture tyres reduce the risk of mid-ride issues, and a pannier with 14 litres of space makes it easy to carry essentials like a jacket, camera, or lunch.
E-bikes are heavier than regular bikes, but the frames here are made from lightweight materials to keep them easy to handle. They’re ideal for people who want to cycle longer distances, ride at a steady pace with less effort, or simply get around quickly and comfortably. If you're not planning on using the motor, you can still ride under your own power—so you can switch between manual and assisted modes as needed.
You can pick up and return your bike from any of these centrally located addresses:
Each spot is within walking distance of public transport and close to major landmarks, giving you a convenient starting point no matter where you're staying.
Riders must be confident on a bicycle and comfortable navigating in urban environments, especially where there’s frequent cycling traffic. There’s no licence required to ride an e-bike in the Netherlands, and helmets are not mandatory but can be provided if requested.
E-bikes are suitable for a wide range of fitness levels, including those who want a bit of support or aren’t regular cyclists.
This service offers a flexible, affordable way to explore Amsterdam and beyond with ease. With a large fleet available and no group size too big or small, it’s ideal for solo riders, couples, families, or even large travel groups.
Bikes are well-maintained, adjusted for comfort before every hire, and supported by helpful staff who can answer any questions before you ride off. With multiple locations across the city centre, it’s easy to find and return your bike—making your time in Amsterdam as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
