The Coniston Challenge – Canyoning in the Lake District

Key Details

• Location: Our Coniston Challenge Canyoning takes place in the stunning Church Beck - upper section. It is an ideal introduction to this exhilarating adventure sport.
• When: We typically meet around 10am and finish around 1pm, providing up to 2 hours of pure canyoning excitement.
• Suitability: Suitable for beginners with a sense of adventure, participants over 14 years old (under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian).

What to Expect

Upon arrival at 10am, we'll gear up in wetsuits, followed by a safety briefing.

Then, we embark on a short, 15-minute approach walk to the top of the canyon.

The canyoning experience includes waterfall abseils, refreshing swims, exhilarating jumps into deep water, and thrilling slides into pools.

The adventure is an absolute blast from start to finish. As we exit the canyon at a lower point, the return walk is shorter and easier, finishing around 1 pm.

Prerequisites

This is suitable for beginners, but you must be aged 14+ with under-18s accompanied by a participating adult.

What to Bring

Please ensure you have the following:

• Spare warm clothing (fleece tops are recommended).
• Pair of shorts to wear over the wetsuit.
• Swimsuit (for wearing under the wetsuit).
• Towel.
• Spare footwear.
• Packed lunch, snacks, and water.
• Any personal medications you may require, including asthma inhalers.

For the safety of your valuables and an uninterrupted adventure, please leave behind mobile phones, jewelry, including rings, and other valuables.

What to Wear

Simply arrive in your regular clothes, and we'll provide top-quality 5mm full-length wetsuits that work exceptionally well. You'll also need sturdy trail shoes, trainers, or hiking boots (no beach shoes or sandals).
