Yes, the water in Hove Lagoon is safe and regularly tested. It is a shallow, controlled body of seawater that provides an ideal environment for learning and practising SUP. Any natural algae growth is harmless and managed by the council. The lagoon is also replenished with fresh seawater every few days, ensuring a clean and safe experience.
We run sessions in most weather conditions, including light rain. However, if there are high winds or lightning storms, we may have to cancel for safety reasons. If your session is cancelled due to weather, we will reschedule it at no extra cost.
At Hove Lagoon, we have full facilities, including changing rooms, hot showers, lockers, and a café for post-session refreshments. The location provides everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable SUP experience.
We provide wetsuits, so you'll stay warm even on cooler days. If you know it will be chilly, consider wearing a thermal layer under the wetsuit for added warmth, and bring warm clothes for after the session.
