



Stand-up Paddleboarding Lessons
Our experienced and certified instructors will guide you and your friends to the best island in the North of England
Situated on the tip of the Furness Peninsula, Piel Island is a jewel that the traveller can stumble across and be won over forever, by this charming little fifty acre island. For it has a King, a Castle and a Pub, all steeped in history waiting to be discovered by you.
The Ship Inn is open from March to September for fine traditional ales from local breweries, beers, wines and spirits to quench the thirsty traveller. We are now also serving food including pies, wraps and jacket potatoes. Check out our menu here. You could also bring a picnic to enjoy as you watch the world go by from the tranquillity of the island.
Please bring your own towels and change of clothes
Our SUP lessons are designed for intermediate paddleboarders It's suitable for all age groups, however, children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
We will provide all necessary SUP equipment including the board, paddle, and safety equipment such as life jackets. You just need to come in comfortable swimwear.
Be prepared for 6 to 8 hours most of this will be on the Island and 3 hours on the water
Yes, even with a life jacket, participants should be comfortable in and around the water.

Yes, we have a great cafe serving hot food!
If the weather conditions are deemed unsafe for paddleboarding, we will reschedule your lesson for a later date. Safety is our top priority.
