Wreck diving offers an incredible opportunity to explore underwater treasures and immerse yourself in the captivating stories of the past. This speciality course equips you with the skills and knowledge to dive safely around shipwrecks and artificial reefs, combining academic learning, confined water training, and exciting open water dives. By the end of this programme, you'll hold an SSI Wreck Diving specialty certification, opening the door to unforgettable adventures.
The programme begins with six comprehensive academic sessions, where you’ll learn essential concepts such as mapping wrecks, understanding structural integrity, and planning your dives to ensure safety and enjoyment. These sessions cover theoretical knowledge and visual aids to give you a strong foundation in wreck diving principles.
The confined water sessions are designed to build your confidence and familiarity with techniques like line-handling, light use, and navigating confined spaces around wrecks. You'll practise these skills in a controlled environment under the guidance of certified instructors.
Finally, you'll take part in two open water dives, venturing to depths of up to 30 metres. These dives focus on applying your skills in real wreck settings, allowing you to navigate, assess conditions, and refine your buoyancy control in dynamic environments. Each dive is a step closer to earning your specialty certification and becoming a competent wreck diver.
