A full day on a private luxury yacht offers a relaxed way to explore the southern coastline of the Dominican Republic. Departing from La Romana, this charter gives your group exclusive use of a 56ft yacht as you cruise toward either Saona Island or Catalina Island, with the day shaped around how you want to spend your time on the water.
Meeting takes place at La Playita Muelle de Pescadores in La Romana where your captain and crew welcome you aboard the 56ft yacht. After a short introduction and safety briefing, the yacht leaves the harbour and begins cruising along the southern coastline. Guests can choose where to spend their time on board, whether relaxing on the front sunbed, enjoying the elevated flybridge views, or sitting in the shaded aft deck area while drinks are served.
The cruise continues across clear Caribbean waters toward your chosen destination. Some groups prefer heading toward Saona Island, known for its long white sand beaches and shallow turquoise waters, while others opt for Catalina Island where the calm sea is ideal for swimming or snorkelling. During the journey, drinks including beer, soda, and bottled water are available, and guests can play their own music using the yacht’s Bluetooth sound system.
Once at your chosen destination, the schedule remains flexible. You may stop for swimming, spend time relaxing along the coast, or simply remain on the yacht enjoying the surroundings. The crew follows your preferences throughout the day, allowing the experience to unfold at a comfortable pace before the yacht returns to La Romana later in the afternoon.
La Romana sits along the southern coast of the Dominican Republic and serves as a departure point for many of the region’s island trips. The coastline here faces the Caribbean Sea, offering direct access to destinations such as Saona Island and Catalina Island.
Boarding takes place at La Playita Muelle de Pescadores, a small harbour area used by local boats and yacht charters. Guests staying in Punta Cana, Bayahibe, Casa de Campo, or La Romana can arrange hotel transfers for an additional cost if they prefer not to travel to the marina independently.
Guests should be comfortable stepping onto the yacht from the dock when boarding at the marina. Crew members assist with boarding, but some balance and mobility are required when moving around the boat during the cruise.
The charter is designed as a relaxed day on the water and is suitable for most travellers. However, it may not be suitable for pregnant guests or those with mobility limitations due to movement on board and access between deck areas.
Chartering a private yacht allows your group to explore the Dominican Republic coastline without sharing the space with other travellers. You can decide how the day unfolds, whether that means cruising slowly along the coast, spending time swimming, or relaxing on board with music and drinks.
The yacht itself offers several comfortable spaces including sunbeds, shaded seating areas, and indoor cabins. With a captain and crew dedicated to your group throughout the day, the experience remains flexible and tailored to your preferences.
The yacht departs from La Playita Muelle de Pescadores in La Romana. This small harbour area is commonly used for private boat charters and provides direct access to the Caribbean Sea.
Guests meet their captain and crew at the pier before boarding the yacht. Detailed meeting instructions are provided after booking so that arrival and boarding can happen smoothly.
Yes, the charter allows you to select either Saona Island or Catalina Island as your main destination for the day. Each offers a slightly different experience depending on your preferences.
Saona Island is known for its beaches and shallow water areas, while Catalina Island is often chosen for swimming and snorkelling. Guests select one destination and the crew plans the route around that choice.
The itinerary remains flexible throughout the charter. After leaving La Romana, the captain follows the general route toward your chosen island while adjusting stops depending on what your group prefers.
Some guests choose to stop for swimming or relaxing near the shore, while others spend more time cruising and enjoying the yacht itself. The crew works with your group to shape the day accordingly.
The 56ft yacht offers several spaces where guests can relax during the trip. These include the front sunbed area, the flybridge with elevated views, and the shaded aft deck.
There is also an indoor salon with cabins and bathrooms available on board. This layout allows guests to move between sun and shade depending on their preference throughout the day.
Drinks are included as part of the charter. The yacht provides beer, sodas, bottled water, and ice for guests to enjoy during the cruise.
These drinks are available throughout the trip while the yacht is underway or when anchored. Guests who prefer premium alcohol can bring their own or arrange this separately.
Yes, guests are welcome to bring their own food if they would like to enjoy a meal during the charter. Many groups choose to bring snacks or organise catering in advance.
Since food is not included by default, this flexibility allows guests to customise the day according to their preferences or dietary needs.
Basic snorkelling masks are available on board for guests who want to explore the water during stops near the islands or shallow areas.
These masks allow guests to observe marine life close to the yacht. However, guests who plan extensive snorkelling sometimes prefer bringing their own equipment for comfort.
