Swap city streets for mountain trails on this private mountain biking experience in Vitosha, just outside Sofia. Suitable for all riding levels, the tour combines forest paths, mountain scenery and flexible route options with guided and self-guided experiences available.
Set on the southern slopes of Vitosha Mountain, this experience gives riders the chance to explore one of the most popular outdoor areas near Sofia. After meeting at the starting point, guests are equipped with a hardtail mountain bike and helmet before heading onto a selection of trails suited to their riding level and confidence.
Guided riders are accompanied by an experienced local mountain biker who selects routes based on the group’s pace and ability. Trails may include forest tracks, mountain paths and scenic hillside sections with views back across Sofia and the surrounding countryside. Riders choosing the self-guided option receive a detailed electronic guide with route notes and logistics information to follow independently.
Throughout the ride, the terrain varies between smoother sections and more uneven mountain trails, creating a balanced outdoor experience without requiring advanced mountain biking skills. The flexible format makes the activity suitable for families, beginners and more experienced riders looking to spend time outdoors close to the city.
