Short on time but ready to become a certified diver? This two-day course covers the core elements of entry-level training, allowing you to earn a recognised certification and dive under professional supervision worldwide.
This programme represents approximately half of the full Open Water Diver course and is ideal for those with limited time. Training combines theory development, confined water practice, and open water dives in the sea.
Across two days, you’ll complete three theory sessions with a qualified instructor, followed by three pool sessions to practise essential skills in a controlled environment. Skills are repeated and refined until you feel comfortable and confident before progressing to open water.
The course concludes with two sea dives, where you apply your training under direct supervision. Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a globally recognised certification allowing you to dive up to 12 metres under the supervision of a dive professional.
Training takes place in Funchal, combining classroom facilities, pool training, and shore-based sea dives selected according to conditions. The progression from pool to sea ensures gradual skill development in suitable environments.
Madeira’s coastal waters offer good visibility and stable temperatures, making them well suited for beginner training dives.
Participants must be at least 12 years old and able to swim. No prior diving experience is required. A medical questionnaire will be sent automatically and must be completed before the course begins.
The course is not suitable for pregnant travellers or individuals with heart, respiratory, circulatory, or certain psychological conditions. Flying is not permitted within 12 hours after diving.
The course is delivered in small groups, allowing instructors to monitor skill development closely and adapt pacing to each participant. The structured pool progression reduces pressure and builds confidence before entering open water.
Digital training materials are included, and instruction is available in multiple languages, ensuring clarity and accessibility for international students. Equipment and diving insurance are included, allowing you to focus fully on learning.
