You'll develop rescue awareness and inwater response skills on the PADI Rescue Diver course in Cabo de Palos, blending classroom preparation, strenuous scenario training, and realistic Mediterranean conditions with debriefs after every drill.
Rescue exercises progress from self-rescue and tired diver assists to full scenario drills with panicked diver roles, search patterns, surfacing techniques, and exit planning while you wear full scuba kit in shallow and open water.
Scenario days feel demanding yet supportive as instructors debrief each drill so you understand decision-making as well as technique. Expect to repeat scenarios until responses look instinctive, with breaks for hydration and kit checks between blocks at our harbour base and nearby training sites.
Campus-style sessions use our centre at Paseo Dimas Ortega 18 plus shallow and open-water sites for realistic rescue practice when swell and visibility allow safe role play.
Inwater work often uses the same headland entries you know from fun diving, adding familiarity to stress training. Boat access may feature when scenarios require diver pickup or spacing exercises away from shore crowds in summer.
Complete PADI Advanced Open Water or equivalent and hold current first aid and CPR training within the required timeframe before certification can be issued. Bring proof of EFR or equivalent on day one.
Emergency First Response training can be arranged at our Cabo de Palos classroom if you need to refresh first aid before rescue water work. Reasonable swimming fitness helps you benefit from towing and equipment removal drills.
Scenario-based coaching mirrors real dive trip problems, preparing you to assist buddies and lead safer groups in Murcia and abroad rather than learning rescue only from textbooks.
Readiness for Divemaster or serious fun diving improves when rescue skills become instinctive through repetition with working instructors who supervise students and guided days here every season.
Sessions begin with knowledge development covering stress recognition, emergency plans and equipment considerations. You review self-rescue skills before assisting others.
Exercises set the foundation for more complex scenarios later in the course.
In controlled water you practise assisting panicked divers, tired diver tows and missing diver responses with instructor feedback after each repetition.
Skills repeat until responses are smooth and communication stays clear.
Open water sessions combine multiple problems into realistic scenarios that test search techniques, surfacing unconscious divers and coordinating with buddies.
Debriefs link each scenario to real-world diving situations you may encounter as a certified rescue diver.
Current first aid and CPR within the required window sit beside Advanced Open Water before Rescue certification can be issued.
We can schedule Emergency First Response at the harbour classroom if you need a refresh before water work. Bring proof of EFR or equivalent on day one so scenario days are not delayed. Scenario debriefs stay practical so the skills transfer to real buddy dives.

Junior enrolment follows PADI age and supervision rules, and we discuss it before you book water days.
