⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Such an amazing experience! We had an absolutely wonderful time. The paragliding, quad biking, and dinner show were all fantastic and so much fun. Everything was well organized, and our guide was truly amazing, very friendly, welcoming, and great company throughout the whole experience. We felt comfortable and had…
Head into the Middle Atlas to see the Ouzoud Waterfalls, dropping more than 100 metres into a green valley and widely considered the tallest falls in North Africa. You'll spend the day moving between viewpoints, watching for Barbary macaques in the trees, and sitting down to a riverside lunch.
The drive from Marrakech takes around three hours, passing rolling hills, olive groves and Berber villages, with photo stops along the way. On arrival you'll take in the falls from several vantage points, with olive and cedar forest around you and a good chance of spotting the region's Barbary macaques.
Lunch is served at a traditional riverside restaurant looking toward the cascades, giving you time to sit before an afternoon of further viewpoints, local cafés and nearby villages. A small boat ride at the base of the falls is available as an optional extra if you want a closer look, before we return you to Marrakech in the early evening.
Ouzoud sits in the Middle Atlas, roughly three hours from Marrakech, where the falls drop through several tiers into a valley thick with olive and cedar. The landscape feels completely different from the city plains, which is why this day works so well as a contrast to a Marrakech stay.
Around the falls you'll find established viewpoints, walking trails and riverside restaurants, so once we arrive you can explore at a steady pace rather than a scramble. Paths are uneven in places, and the macaques are used to visitors, so keep food and bags close.
Reaching the different viewpoints involves walking on uneven paths, so comfortable footwear matters more than fitness. General mobility is enough, and we do not treat this as a hard mountain day.
Keep an eye on belongings around the macaques. They are curious around food and bags, and a little caution keeps the wildlife watching relaxed.
We run this as a full, well-timed day from Marrakech, with an English-speaking guide who knows the viewpoints and how to pace the walk so you are not stuck on the bus or rushed at the falls. Pickup, the drive, lunch and the return are handled as one piece.
Days like this are designed for mixed groups as much as keen walkers. You'll have time at the cascades, a proper meal by the water, and a clear drop-off back at your accommodation in the evening.
Pickup from your Marrakech hotel or riad is around 8:00am. Many riads sit on pedestrian lanes, so the driver may park nearby and meet you on foot, or a nearby pickup point can be arranged if you are staying in the medina.
Share your accommodation name and a mobile number when you enquire so the morning collection stays simple.
