Susi and the team were excellent. The facilities and location for our very first time on SUPs were great. We had a blast!

We proudly offer comprehensive First Aid training in East Lothian, tailored for outdoor professionals and adventure enthusiasts. Our First Aid + F Courses, available as both a 3-day First Aid at Work +F (FAW+F) course and a 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work +F (EFAW+F) course, are designed to provide essential knowledge and skills for those in high-risk environments or seeking a fundamental understanding of outdoor first aid.
Each day of the course runs from 9 am to 5 pm and includes tea/coffee, refreshments, and lunch. The courses are designed to be interactive with a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application. Participants will leave with a First Aid certificate and manual, ensuring they are well-equipped to handle first aid situations in outdoor settings.
Both courses provide an in-depth understanding of first aid, with the FAW+F course focusing on prolonged care in remote settings and the EFAW+F course covering fundamental first aid skills. The '+F' aspect highlights forestry first aid, with a particular focus on outdoor-specific injuries and emergencies. Participants will engage in realistic, scenario-based practices, ensuring a comprehensive grasp of emergency response and patient care.
Our courses are hosted at our base, a cosy, renovated Victorian stable surrounded by woodlands near the coast. This unique setting enhances the learning experience with realistic emergency scenarios. We also offer the flexibility to conduct training at your location for group qualifications.
We will meet at our base at Hedderwick Hill Stables, by Belhaven, Dunbar, EH42 1XF (signposted Hedderwick Hill Farm off the A1087) at 9am each day.
Accommodation is not included in this course, allowing you the flexibility to choose lodgings that suit your preferences and budget.
Participants should be at least 18 years of age. The courses are suitable for both beginners and experienced individuals seeking first-aid knowledge, especially in outdoor and remote settings.
We combine professional-level training with practical, real-world scenarios, particularly tailored for outdoor environments. Our experienced instructors are dedicated to providing a thorough understanding of first aid techniques and principles, ensuring that participants are well-prepared for emergency situations. The course includes a First Aid certificate, manual, and refreshments, offering a comprehensive package for anyone looking to enhance their first aid skills.
Join us for an invaluable learning experience that equips you to handle emergencies with confidence and competence.

We are based at Hedderwick Hill Stables, by Belhaven, Dunbar EH42 1XF. It’s really easy to find – just take the turn-off to Hedderwick Hill Farm on the A1087. This is 25 miles east of Edinburgh by Dunbar. There’s changing, coffee and lots of space to hang out.
The 3-day FAW+F (First Aid at Work + Forestry) course is designed for outdoor professionals working in high-risk environments and covers a broader range of first aid techniques, including advanced skills for specific emergencies. It's suitable for those whose roles require a comprehensive, 16-hour first aid course. The 1-day EFAW+F (Emergency First Aid at Work + Forestry) course, on the other hand, is tailored for outdoor enthusiasts or professionals in lower-risk settings, focusing on fundamental first aid skills. Both courses include the '+F' element, which adds an outdoor-specific dimension to the training.
The main prerequisite for both First Aid + F courses is that participants must be at least 18 years old. No prior first aid experience is required, making the courses suitable for both beginners and those looking to refresh their skills. A general interest in outdoor activities and a commitment to learning how to manage emergencies effectively are also important for participants.
Yes, in addition to hosting courses at our base in East Lothian, we offer the flexibility to deliver first aid training at your location. This option is ideal for organisations looking to train a group of first aiders on-site. The courses can be tailored to meet the specific needs of your team, providing a convenient and efficient way to ensure your staff are well-prepared for first-aid emergencies. To arrange for an instructor to come to your location, please get in touch via the live chat on adventuro. The team will help to set this up.
