Enhance your mountain biking skills by mastering the art of tackling drops of all shapes and sizes. Our specialised session at the Forest of Dean provides expert guidance to help you confidently navigate challenging terrain.
Our session begins with a quick recap of body position, ensuring you understand how your posture, balance, and movements set you up for success. We then delve into advanced weight control techniques, teaching you to be more dynamic, powerful, and intentional with your movements. You'll learn to flow through smaller drops using rolling and squashing techniques and gain essential skills like manuals, pump, and coaster for tackling steeper, more technical drops.
Throughout the session, you'll have the opportunity to apply these skills on a variety of trails, with video feedback provided to help you refine your technique. If you have any energy left after the session, join your coach Ollie for a 1.5-hour post-session social ride to explore more of the fantastic trails in the Forest of Dean.
The workshop takes place at the Forest of Dean, specifically at the Cannop Cycle Centre. Meet outside the Pedalabikeaway Cafe for a convenient start to your adventure.
The Forest of Dean is renowned for its beautiful scenery and excellent mountain biking facilities, making it an ideal spot for both learning and enjoying a post-session ride.
We recommend having had at least one prior coaching session, either a bespoke 2-hour session or our Fundamentals course. This background will help you grasp the core skills necessary for this advanced workshop.
There’s nothing like knowing you are in safe hands whilst pushing your limits, which is why all of our instructors are qualified through the MBLA (Mountain Bike Leadership Award), British Cycling, or MIAS (Mountain Bike Instructor Award Scheme).
Our instructors possess in-depth knowledge of the physics of bike control and continually research, test, and refine coaching theories to enhance their teaching. We break down advanced skills into manageable chunks, ensuring progression is achievable for every rider, no matter their current skill level.
