Designed for teens aged 13 to 17, this session provides a fantastic opportunity to explore the trails and develop mountain biking skills in a fun and safe environment. Whether you're looking to get into mountain biking or improve your current skills, this session offers the perfect setting for building confidence on two wheels.
During this session, you’ll receive coaching tailored to your experience level, with a focus on developing fundamental mountain biking skills. Whether it’s your first time or you’ve been biking for a while, the coach will help you build confidence while tackling various trail sections. You’ll be guided through different terrain and given tips on how to handle more technical features safely. The aim is for you to leave with a better understanding of how to ride confidently and safely, whether on local trails or more challenging routes.
The session will be a mix of skills coaching and riding, so expect to spend time practising key techniques followed by riding out on the trails. You’ll also be shown how to properly maintain your bike and make adjustments if needed. It's a great way to connect with others, share biking experiences, and enjoy the outdoors.
The session takes place at Deeside Activity Park, located in the heart of Royal Deeside. The area offers a variety of terrains, perfect for honing mountain biking skills.
The park is easily accessible and serves as a base for all your biking adventures. The nearby trails offer a mix of natural landscapes, allowing participants to experience the beauty of the area while gaining experience on different surfaces.
There are no specific prerequisites for this session, but participants should have a general understanding of how to ride a bike. For those who have never mountain biked before, a willingness to learn and a positive attitude will go a long way.
It’s also recommended that you come with a good level of fitness to ensure you can fully enjoy the session.
With Chris's extensive qualifications, including a Scottish Cycling MBLA certification, British Cycling MTB Level 2, and international experience, you’ll be guided by an expert who is passionate about biking. His love for coaching and sharing his mountain biking experiences means you’ll be learning from the best. Kirsten brings her love for the sport and expertise in guiding to every session. Known for her detailed route planning and friendly approach, she helps participants get the most out of every ride.
Both Chris and Kirsten are committed to providing a personalised experience for each participant. They are passionate about supporting the local community, working with schools and clubs, and ensuring that the trails are used sustainably. Their focus on safe, fun riding means you’ll have a memorable time while learning the skills needed to ride with confidence.
