Kids had a great time with Chris. He managed a group of varied experience brilliantly and kept them all engaged and excited. Fab challenges and all were both chuffed and tired by the end of the two hours. Highly recommended as a kids party!
We partner with Rewilding Britain to help protect our natural spaces for future adventures.

These weekly after-school sessions are designed to help kids aged 6-12 develop their cycling skills while introducing them to the exciting world of mountain biking. Taking place every Tuesday, the sessions are an excellent opportunity for young riders to gain confidence on the bike while learning new techniques in a safe and fun environment.
During these sessions, children will develop essential cycling skills that are the foundation of mountain biking. The class starts with warm-up exercises, followed by fun activities like tackling ramps, navigating woodland tracks, and participating in games designed to improve control and handling.
The focus is on building confidence and introducing children to different biking techniques in a playful, supportive environment. Each session is led by experienced instructors who will tailor activities to the children’s abilities and ensure that everyone is progressing at their own pace.
The sessions are held at Deeside Activity Park, located in Aboyne. The park provides an ideal setting for mountain biking, offering a variety of trails, woodlands, and terrains suitable for all levels. It is a safe and engaging environment where children can enjoy biking and develop their skills.
Participants should have a basic understanding of cycling, although no prior mountain biking experience is required. It is important that each child’s bike is in good condition and appropriate for use.
If you do not have a suitable bike, there are hire options available at the centre. Please notify us in advance if you would like to hire any equipment, such as a bike, helmet, or protective pads.
With a wealth of qualifications and experience, including certifications from British Cycling, Chris and Kirsten bring a passion for biking and a dedication to coaching young riders. Chris has a deep love for mountain biking, offering expert guidance, from gentle cycle paths to more challenging terrains. Kirsten’s extensive background in MTB events and leadership ensures that each child receives tailored instruction. Together, they provide a safe and engaging environment for children to develop their cycling skills.
The team’s commitment to community and sustainability sets them apart. By supporting local schools and charities and guiding only on trails with landowners’ consent, they ensure that the kids' learning experience is both responsible and enjoyable.
