Step away from routine and head into the Cairngorms for a full weekend of outdoor activities, Highland scenery, and connection with like-minded women. Paddleboard on Loch Morlich, hike forest trails, ride quad bikes, and relax around evening fires with a BBQ—all in a small, supportive group.
The weekend begins on Friday afternoon with arrival at the campsite near Loch Morlich. You’ll meet your guides, receive a safety briefing, and have time to set up your tent or check in if you’re using provided camping equipment. After a short orientation of the site and surrounding area, there’s a light paddleboarding session on the calm waters of the loch to familiarise yourself with the boards, paddles, and basic techniques. This introductory session ensures you feel confident before tackling longer routes on Saturday.
Saturday starts with an early breakfast followed by a morning paddleboarding session. You’ll practice basic strokes, turning, and balance under guidance, with opportunities to improve your technique in small groups. Mid-morning transitions into forest walks in Glenmore Forest Park, where the guides will take you along scenic trails with opportunities to spot wildlife such as red squirrels, deer, and ospreys. Paths vary from gentle strolls to moderate walks, with plenty of rest stops and photo opportunities.
After a packed lunch by the loch, the afternoon is dedicated to quad biking. Small group instruction ensures safety and confidence on the trails. Routes wind through moorland and pine forest, offering panoramic views of the Cairngorm Mountains and plenty of time to practice handling and control of the bikes. After returning to camp, you’ll have time to relax, freshen up, and prepare for an evening BBQ by the fire. The guides facilitate group seating and communal cooking, giving time to chat, unwind, and enjoy the surroundings.
Sunday morning features a slightly longer paddleboarding session, where you’ll navigate a longer stretch of Loch Morlich or nearby waters under supervision. This is an opportunity to put skills learned the day before into practice, focusing on control, navigation, and balance. After a mid-morning snack and a short hike or additional outdoor activity, the weekend concludes with a group reflection, sharing highlights and photos. Departure is mid-afternoon, with guides available to answer questions and provide advice for future adventures. Throughout the weekend, the pace is flexible, safety briefings are given before every activity, and guides are on hand at all times to provide support and ensure you feel comfortable.
