Our popular weekly rock climbing club develops young climbers through indoor winter walls and outdoor summer crags across Yorkshire. Sessions build technique, problem solving and resilience with qualified coaches in registered settings.
Each club session blends coached roped climbing, bouldering, and climbing games across indoor walls and outdoor crags, starting with thorough safety briefings and harness checks. Coaches introduce progressive technique drills so returning members steadily improve while newcomers quickly feel part of the team.
The pace adapts to the venue, weather conditions, and group energy, keeping rope management and bouldering spot routines consistent from the initial warm-up through to the final debrief. Kids gain agility, balance, and peer-belaying skills in a fun, social atmosphere.
Club venues rotate between premier climbing walls and iconic natural outcrops, including The Climbing Hub in Bradford, Live for Today Harrogate, The Big Depot Leeds, and outdoor summer venues such as Almscliffe Crag and Ilkley Moor. This variety ensures young climbers become well-rounded on both artificial resin and natural gritstone.
We confirm the exact venue, session time slot, and parking details in advance of each term date. Directions and parent drop-off instructions are emailed to make weekly logistics completely straightforward.
No prior climbing qualifications are required to join the club; sessions cater to beginners through to intermediate youth climbers. Participants should be keen to follow instructor guidance and wear harnesses and helmets for all roped activities.
Please share any medical conditions, learning support requirements, or worries about heights when registering. Grippy trainers or climbing shoes and comfortable activewear are all that is needed to get started.
Our coaches have spent years climbing and coaching on local grit and limestone crags, planning venue choices, parking, and approaches so youngsters spend more time climbing and less time waiting around. We foster a genuine love for the outdoors in a safe, structured setting.
Club sessions align with progressive youth climbing schemes, giving kids a clear developmental pathway from their first top-ropes through to outdoor lead climbing and coaching awards. Our small coach-to-climber ratios guarantee individual attention and steady skill development.
Meet at The Climbing Hub, Unit 3, Crossley Park Works, Crossley Street, Bradford BD4 8ST. Allow extra time for moorland or crag approaches from the car park.
We send final directions, parking details and arrival time before your session.
Young climbers aged 8 and over who want a regular Saturday or Sunday session indoors or outdoors through the year. Beginners and improvers train side by side with coaches adapting drills to ability.
Parents drop off and collect at the confirmed venue each week. Tell us about learning or medical needs when you register so floor staff can support your child from their first session.
Each three-hour club session includes qualified coaching, harness and helmet hire for roped work, and structured climbing activities at the listed venue.
Transport, food, personal climbing shoes and wall entry on extra practice days outside club times are not included in the session fee.
Club rotates between Bradford, Leeds, Harrogate and summer outdoor crags such as Almscliffe and Ilkley. You receive the weekly venue and start time before each block begins.
Outdoor summer sessions need waterproofs and approach shoes; indoor weeks are standard sports kit and trainers. Directions and drop-off bays are emailed so weekly logistics stay simple.
Trainers or climbing shoes if they own them, comfortable activewear and a water bottle every week. Outdoor sessions need full waterproofs and warm layers in a small rucksack.
A snack helps on longer outdoor days. Label personal kit if your child tends to leave items in changing areas after busy sessions.
No qualification is required to join. Coaches group climbers by confidence and teach belay routines from the ground up with clear calls before anyone leaves the floor.
If your child already climbs indoors, share their recent grades or NICAS level so we place them in the right coaching lane from week one.
Book individual club dates or blocks through Adventuro and we confirm your place, venue rota and consent paperwork before the first session.
Club membership paperwork may also be required directly with us before your child attends. We will outline any forms in your confirmation email.
Summer crag weeks can move to an indoor wall if lightning, high wind or sustained rain makes outdoor ropes unsafe. We email parents as early as possible when venues change.
Outdoor weeks still run in light showers when shelter and route choice allow safe coaching. Pack waterproofs every outdoor date so your child stays comfortable on the moor.
Club is open from age 8 through teenage years. Older teens ready for lead coaching may be signposted to youth lead courses instead of general club when skills outgrow the rota.
Under-8s are welcome on family taster sessions rather than open club ratios. Contact us if you are unsure which product fits your child’s age and confidence.
Coaches log skills against NICAS-style outcomes and outdoor crag sessions in summer. Regular attendance builds belay competence, movement and crag awareness over terms rather than in a single taster.
We discuss sensible next steps such as Rock Skills courses or holiday trips when a climber is ready for more structured awards. Parents receive informal feedback at pick-up on request.
Single session cancellations follow the UK tiers published on this booking page. Block or term bookings may have separate terms explained when you confirm your place with the club office.
Let us know absence in advance where possible so coaches can balance groups safely and offer spare places to waiting families on busy weekends.
