School holidays are the perfect excuse to get young climbers onto real rock and quality indoor walls for a full day of weaselling, bouldering, roped climbing and abseiling. Coaches keep the mix playful and safety led so children build confidence, make friends and discover whether climbing could become their next hobby.
Holiday climbing days bounce between weaselling through gritstone passages, boulder problems, roped climbs, and exciting abseils. Fun games and achievable challenges keep young climbers engaged, moving, and smiling from start to finish.
Instructors explain and demonstrate every step before anyone leaves the ground, building independence and trust in the safety systems. The venue may shift between outdoor crags and partner indoor walls to match the Yorkshire weather while keeping the same playful energy.
Holiday sessions rotate across registered venues including The Climbing Hub in Bradford, Ilkley Moor Cow and Calf, and Brimham Rocks. Each venue offers distinctive terrain, pairing indoor weather-proof facilities with world-class outdoor gritstone.
We confirm the exact venue, car park meeting point, and timings before your session. Approach walks vary by crag, so youngsters should arrive ready for an outdoor day in sturdy shoes with plenty of layers.
No climbing experience is needed, only enthusiasm to get outdoors and follow instructor guidance. A reasonable level of mobility helps on uneven rock and moorland approaches.
Parents or guardians complete consent information before the session. Tell us about any medical needs or anxiety around heights so we can plan supportive coaching on the day.
Our coaches have spent years climbing local Yorkshire gritstone and limestone outcrops. Venue choices, parking, and approach walks are planned meticulously so participants spend maximum time on rock rather than guessing directions.
Programmes align with Mountain Training pathways, providing a structured progression from first outdoor scrambles toward independent skills and future qualifications. We pride ourselves on creating an inclusive, supportive atmosphere where every youngster thrives.
Meeting points differ between The Climbing Hub in Bradford, Ilkley Cow and Calf car parks and Brimham Rocks. We send the precise address, parking and arrival time once your date and venue are confirmed.

Outdoor days need a short walk from the car park, so arrive in trainers or approach shoes with full waterproofs packed.
Pack a packed lunch, snacks and plenty of water, plus warm layers and waterproof jacket and trousers. Grippy trainers are fine if they do not own climbing shoes.
Sun protection in summer and any personal medication should be carried in a small rucksack the child can manage on the approach walk.
No prior climbing is required. A reasonable level of mobility on uneven paths helps on outdoor crags.
If your child climbs indoors regularly, mention their NICAS or wall level when booking so coaches can challenge them appropriately on real rock.
Request your holiday date through Adventuro and we confirm availability, payment and parent consent forms before the day runs.
Places are limited per instructor ratio, so early booking during school holidays is recommended.
We may switch to an indoor wall or a more sheltered crag if wind or heavy rain makes exposed rock unsafe. Light showers are often manageable with good clothing.
If we cancel for safety, we offer reschedule or refund under the cancellation terms on this page.
The minimum age is 7 on public holiday days. Younger children are better suited to our family crag sessions with a dedicated adult in the group.
Contact us before booking if you are unsure whether a child just under 7 could join a private group arrangement.
Ratios stay within safe NICAS-style limits for roped activity so every child gets harness checks and belay supervision. Exact numbers depend on venue and activity mix on the day.
We never rush harness fitting or calls; safety briefings are built into the start of every session.
Cancellation fees follow the UK course tiers on this page. Reschedule is considered when you give at least seven days notice.
Contact us as early as possible if your child cannot attend so we can offer the place to another family where possible.
