Spend a full day exploring the Dominican Republic’s coastline on a private yacht cruise to Isla Saona and the Palmilla Natural Pool. Departing from Bayahibe, this exclusive charter takes your group across turquoise Caribbean waters to one of the country’s most famous islands, with time to swim, relax on white-sand beaches, and wade through the shallow lagoon at Palmilla.
Your day begins with hotel pickup from Punta Cana or surrounding areas before travelling to Bayahibe marina, where the crew welcomes you aboard your private yacht.
The cruise heads across the Caribbean Sea toward Isla Saona. During the journey you can relax on deck, enjoy the sea breeze and take in views of the Dominican coastline. Soft drinks are available onboard while the yacht travels through clear turquoise water.
Upon arrival at Isla Saona, you will have time to explore the beach, swim in the warm water or relax beneath palm trees. The island is part of the protected Cotubanamá National Park and is known for its long stretches of white sand and shallow coastal waters.
Later in the day, the yacht stops at Palmilla Natural Pool. This famous sandbank creates a large natural lagoon with calm, waist-deep water. Guests can wade through the shallow sea and often spot large starfish resting on the sandy seabed.
After time at Palmilla, the yacht returns to Bayahibe along the coast before your transfer back to your hotel.
Bayahibe is a coastal village on the southeastern shore of the Dominican Republic and the main departure point for Isla Saona excursions. The surrounding waters form part of Cotubanamá National Park.
Isla Saona lies just offshore and is known for its wide beaches, clear water and palm-lined coastline. Palmilla Natural Pool sits between the mainland and the island, creating a large shallow sandbank area popular for swimming.
No previous boating or snorkeling experience is required. Guests should be comfortable spending time on a boat and entering the water from the yacht.
The experience is not recommended for travellers with back problems, heart conditions or for those who are pregnant. The yacht is not wheelchair accessible and strollers are not permitted.
Operating across multiple destinations and having welcomed more than 50,000 travellers, this team focuses on organised marine excursions with experienced captains and crew.
Private charters allow groups to travel at their own pace, with a flexible schedule and exclusive use of the vessel throughout the trip.
