🧗 What to Expect
Once you arrive, you’ll get kitted out with a wetsuit, buoyancy aid, helmet and harness before taking a short walk down into Hodge Close Quarry. Steep rock walls surround the deep, clear water below, creating a brilliant setting for a varied session where you’ll spend plenty of time both in and around the water. Your first dip gives you a chance to adjust to the temperature before getting into the main challenges.
During the session, you can expect a mixture of jumps, scrambling and a via ferrata-style traverse as you make your way around the quarry. One of the biggest moments comes when you head into the darker sections and take a jump into a black pool, adding a completely different feel to the open-water sections outside.
Everything is guided throughout, so you don’t need previous experience to take part. Challenges can be approached with support from your instructor, making the session suitable for different abilities while still giving more confident participants plenty to get involved with.
