This course focuses on teaching new tricks and perfecting your technique, particularly helping you navigate corners confidently on the System 2.0 Cable. By the end of the course, you’ll be ready to join our practice sessions and attempt exciting tricks like 180s, riding switch, and ollies!
In this course, you’ll build on the basic skills learned in your first wakeboarding sessions, focusing on mastering more advanced techniques. You’ll learn to navigate corners smoothly, improve your balance, and work on exciting tricks like 180s, riding switch, and ollies. With the support of a BWSW-trained instructor, you’ll gain the confidence to ride the cable independently and develop your personal style on the water. This course is all about progressing at your own pace while having fun and improving your wakeboarding skills.
Our wakeboarding sessions take place at Hove Lagoon, a shallow and safe body of seawater near Brighton’s seafront. With our System 2.0 Cable system, Hove Lagoon offers the ideal environment for improving your wakeboarding skills in a controlled and supportive setting.
To join the Improvers Wakeboard Course, you must be confident in the water, able to swim, and capable of riding a wakeboard in a straight line. This course is for those who have completed the Learn to Wakeboard Course or have equivalent experience.

This course is for riders who have already completed the Learn to Wakeboard Course or have equivalent experience. You should be able to confidently ride in a straight line on a wakeboard. It’s perfect for those looking to master corners, learn new tricks, and improve their overall wakeboarding skills.
You will learn to confidently navigate corners on the System 2.0 Cable, perform tricks such as 180s, ride switch, and attempt ollies. The course is designed to help you improve your technique and prepare you for more advanced wakeboarding challenges.
We provide all the necessary equipment, including a wakeboard, wetsuit, impact vest, helmet, and buoyancy aid. You only need to bring your own swimwear to wear under the wetsuit and a towel for after your session.
The Improvers Wakeboard Course lasts for 1 hour and is typically shared by up to 3 participants. This small group size ensures you get plenty of individual attention and coaching from our instructors.
We run sessions in most weather conditions, including light rain. However, if there are high winds or lightning, we may cancel the session for safety reasons. If this happens, we’ll work with you to reschedule your session at no extra cost.
At Hove Lagoon, we offer full facilities, including changing rooms, hot showers, and lockers for storing your belongings. There is also a café on-site for snacks and drinks, and the centre has disabled access.
