Pickup brings you from your accommodation in Rovaniemi to our safari house beside Pisavaara Nature Reserve, where you'll change into warm winter overalls, boots and gloves. Then you board a sleigh pulled by your guide's snowmobile for the ride through snow-covered forest to a secluded lake.

On the frozen lake your guide shows you how to drill through the ice and drop a line, and you'll fish at your own pace while taking in the Arctic silence around you. While you're on the ice, we'll prepare a traditional campfire snack of grilled sausage and hot berry juice. After the lake stop, you'll return by sleigh to the safari house, hand back your gear and we'll drive you back to Rovaniemi.

The fishing lake lies deep in forest country north of Rovaniemi, reached only by sleigh from our base near Pisavaara Nature Reserve. It's genuine wilderness away from the busier tourist routes.
