Start the day from Reykjavík and head out for an unforgettable mix of snow and steam. This 10-hour adventure takes you across Langjökull Glacier on snowmobiles and ends with a relaxing dip in the natural hot waters of the Secret Lagoon. Guests receive all necessary gear, making it an ideal day for families or first-time riders.
The day begins with a pick-up in Reykjavík, followed by a scenic drive on the Ring Road towards the South Coast. Shortly before Selfoss, the route turns into the Icelandic Highlands, offering views of volcanic landscapes, lava fields, and, if lucky, the iconic Geysir spouting geothermal water into the sky.
Next, you reach the outskirts of Langjökull Glacier, where guides help you suit up with snowmobile gear and give a brief safety session. Riders then enjoy about an hour exploring the glacier, navigating icy trails and open expanses while taking in panoramic views of crevasses, surrounding peaks, and highland plains.
After the snowmobile adventure, the tour heads towards Flúðir for a well-earned soak in the Secret Lagoon. This natural geothermal pool is set in a serene environment where steam rises around you and the warm water feels amazing after a cold morning on the glacier. Once relaxed, the journey returns to Reykjavík, passing through the South Coast scenery once again.
The tour departs from downtown Reykjavík, with pick-ups from hotels or marked bus stops across the city. Guests are collected roughly 30 minutes before departure to ensure everyone is ready for the day ahead.
Langjökull Glacier, Europe’s second-largest ice cap, stretches over 953 km² with ice up to 580 metres thick. Its vast, remote highlands are otherwise inaccessible, giving riders a chance to experience Iceland’s glacial interior safely on snowmobiles. The Secret Lagoon in Flúðir offers a contrasting experience, with geothermal waters in a natural setting perfect for unwinding after the high-energy glacier ride.
Riders must be at least 6 years old, and anyone driving a snowmobile must be 18 with a valid driver’s licence. Each adult in the group must also hold a licence to meet safety standards. Only one child per adult is permitted on this tour, and two guests share a snowmobile unless booking a single rider option.
Guests should wear warm, waterproof, and windproof clothing with sturdy hiking boots. All essential snowmobiling gear, including overalls, gloves, balaclavas, cover shoes, and helmets, is provided. Dressing in layers is recommended to handle Iceland’s rapidly changing weather.
Guides are highly experienced in leading glacier and highland tours, combining safety with fun and expert knowledge. Their fleet of snowmobiles and super jeeps ensures guests can explore areas of Langjökull and the Highlands that are otherwise unreachable, making for a memorable and unique adventure.
Tours are conducted under strict safety standards, with fully insured vehicles and adherence to Icelandic regulations. Guests can relax knowing that every detail is handled, from glacier transfers to equipment, letting everyone focus on enjoying snow, ice, and hot springs in one incredible day.
Riders spend about one hour on the glacier, exploring icy trails and open expanses. This allows enough time to experience the terrain without feeling rushed, and the guides ensure everyone rides safely at a comfortable pace.
Before the ride, there is a transfer from Reykjavík via super jeep that takes you through lava fields, highland valleys, and volcanic landscapes. Combined with the glacier ride, the full day offers a rich and varied Icelandic experience.
Yes, children aged six and older can take part, but only as passengers. Each adult can take one child on a snowmobile. This keeps the adventure safe and enjoyable for younger riders.
The Secret Lagoon also provides a kid-friendly opportunity to relax in warm geothermal waters after the morning on the glacier. Guides help ensure safety for all ages throughout the tour.
Yes, drivers must be 18 or older and hold a valid driver’s licence. All other adults in the group must also have a licence. Children and non-licensed guests ride as passengers.

All snowmobiling gear is provided, including overalls, gloves, balaclavas, cover shoes, and helmets. The extra layer of provided clothing keeps riders comfortable while riding across ice and snow.
The full day lasts roughly 10 hours, including transfers, glacier snowmobiling, and time at the Secret Lagoon. This schedule allows for travel, sightseeing, and a relaxed soak without feeling rushed.
Pick-up starts early in Reykjavík to make the most of the daylight and ensure guests experience both the glacier and the hot springs comfortably.
