This personalised training approach offers a comprehensive plan to help you maximise your climbing ability, focusing on technical, tactical, physical, and psychological growth. Whether you're preparing for a trip, recovering from an injury, or targeting a specific goal, this flexible and supported process is tailored to meet your needs while fitting seamlessly into your existing climbing routine.
The programme begins with a profiling session, a two-hour one-to-one assessment to identify your strengths and areas for development. This is followed by a goal mapping session, another two-hour session dedicated to establishing your objectives and the steps required to achieve them.
A tailored Action Plan is then created in the final two-hour session, broken into five phases and designed to fit your timeline. Alongside this, you'll receive an Action Plan Report, a detailed guide explaining each exercise and when to integrate it into your climbing.
Flexibility is key: exercises are designed to fit into your usual climbing routine, allowing you to train without disrupting your regular sessions. Additional support includes free consultations during each phase and discounted hourly coaching for any extra help you might need.
After completing your Action Plan, a Continuation Plan offers a streamlined option to build on your progress. This includes two two-hour coaching sessions and a one-hour reflection session, enabling you to refine your goals and create a new plan without starting from scratch. The continuation option is available at a discounted price if started immediately after the reflection session.
Sessions are conducted in North Wales, within the thriving climbing hub of Llanberis. This location provides a wealth of climbing opportunities and an inspiring setting to develop your skills.
This training is suited for climbers with prior experience who have a specific goal or focus in mind, whether improving technical skills, recovering from injury, or preparing for a trip or competition.
With over 20 years of climbing expertise, the coaching is backed by an impressive breadth of qualifications, including the Climbing Wall Development Award (CWDI), Development Coach award and a Professional Masters in Elite Performance (MProf). These certifications demonstrate not only technical ability but also a deep understanding of effective training methodologies.
Beyond qualifications, the coach brings extensive personal climbing achievements, having tackled over 1,100 boulder problems across 130 venues in ten countries. Highlights include climbing Carnage assis 7c in Fontainebleau and Rock Atrocity 7c+ at Sheep Pen. This wealth of experience is combined with a passion for tailored coaching, ensuring every participant receives a plan designed specifically for their unique goals and abilities.
The duration of the plan is entirely customisable to suit your goals. Most plans run for a climbing season or school term, typically 3-6 months, but shorter plans for trips or competitions, or longer plans for sustained improvement, can also be arranged.
During your initial consultation, we'll determine the best timeline for you.
While having a goal can help, it’s not a requirement. During the Profiling and Goal Mapping sessions, we’ll work together to identify what you want to achieve and create a clear roadmap.
Whether it’s improving your headgame, recovering from an injury, or preparing for a trip, the plan will be designed to meet your individual needs.
Yes! The plan is designed to fit seamlessly into your regular climbing sessions, so you won’t need to give up time with friends or your usual wall routine.
Exercises can be incorporated into a small portion of your climbing session, allowing you to keep the balance between training and enjoyment.
You’ll have access to free consultations during each phase of the plan, where you can ask questions or clarify exercises.
If you want additional coaching, discounted one-on-one sessions are available. This ensures you always have the help you need to stay on track.
The Action Plan includes six hours of coaching across three sessions and is designed as a comprehensive, tailored training plan.
The Continuation Plan is a shorter follow-up option, including two two-hour coaching sessions and a one-hour reflection session, ideal for building on progress from the first plan.
The Continuation Plan must be booked immediately after completing the Reflection session to ensure a seamless transition.
This approach builds on your momentum and keeps the plan relevant to your current abilities and goals.
Not at all! The plan is tailored to your level, whether you’re an intermediate climber looking to break through plateaus or an experienced climber refining specific skills.
The personalised nature of the programme means it works for all abilities.
