Our 9 year old had a fab time with her two instructors and was able to stand and surf by the end of one lesson!

Once you can already stand and paddle, this two-hour tour takes you along the Camel Estuary from Padstow, or onto Harlyn Bay if the tide and wind are better there. The guide sets the line and talks through the water in front of you. This is not a first lesson. You need to paddle for an hour and get yourself back on the board if you fall off.
You meet at the emergency gate on the Camel Trail, where the trailer is parked. After a short brief you paddle out on the estuary, staying with the guide. If the tide or wind makes the estuary a poor choice, the session can move to Harlyn Bay. We will be in touch if that happens.
Please arrive 30 minutes early. Parking is limited on Porthilly View, which is a residential road. Use a Padstow town car park and walk down. The meeting point has no toilets or cafe, so sort that in town first.
The usual start is the Camel Estuary at Padstow, a short walk from the town centre. The water is flatter than the open bay, which is why a tour works here once you already have your feet.
When the estuary is wrong for the tide, the same tour can run from Harlyn Bay. Keep your phone on the morning of the booking so you see a meeting-point change before you park in the wrong place.
You must already be confident on a paddleboard, able to paddle for at least an hour, and able to get back on after a fall. First-timers should book the intro lesson instead.
The usual minimum age is 12. Younger children are only considered on a family booking of at least four, and only if you ask first. Bring swimwear, a towel and shoes you can get wet. Tell us your size if you need a wetsuit.
Chris and the team have run paddleboard sessions on this estuary for years, and every coach holds a lifeguard qualification. The school is licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Service, which is how a tour can move beach when the wind shifts.
You get a guide who already knows the Camel, not a script read from a card. The board, paddle and buoyancy aid are on the trailer. A wetsuit is there if you have asked for one.
Meet at the emergency gate on the Camel Trail, Porthilly View, Padstow, PL28 8DH. The trailer will be parked there. Do not rely on parking on that road.
Use a town car park in Padstow and walk down. Please arrive 30 minutes early. Padstow fills in summer.
A tour. You need to already stand, paddle for an hour and get back on the board if you fall off. The guide sets the line and talks through the water, but this is not the place to learn your first stroke.
If you have never paddleboarded, book the intro lesson in Padstow instead. That session starts on the bank and builds the skills this tour assumes you already have.
The emergency gate on the Camel Trail, Porthilly View, Padstow, PL28 8DH. The trailer will be there. That road is residential, so parking at the gate is not something to count on.
Use a Padstow town car park and walk down. Arrive 30 minutes early. In summer the town fills, and being late for a tide window is how you miss the brief.
The same tour can run from Harlyn Bay if the wind or tide makes the estuary a poor choice. We will message you if the meeting point moves.
Keep your phone on that morning. If you have already parked in Padstow and we have moved to the bay, you need that message before you walk to the trailer.
A paddleboard, paddle and buoyancy aid. A wetsuit is there if you have sent a size in advance. You can bring your own suit if you prefer.
There are no changing rooms at the meeting point. Get into swimwear in town or use a public toilet in Padstow before you walk down.
Twelve. Younger children are only considered on a family booking of at least four, and only if you ask first so we can judge whether the tour is the right fit.
This is not a first paddle for a child who has never stood on a board. The intro lesson is the better start for that.
Wind is the main reason a tour cannot run. Rain alone is usually fine. If the wind or direction makes the estuary unsafe, we will try to contact you, rearrange, or offer another activity if one is free.
Conditions change quickly. If you are driving a long way, message us the day before rather than hoping the forecast holds.
Swimwear, a towel, warm dry clothes, shoes you can get wet, sunscreen and a water bottle. Send your clothing size if you need a wetsuit.
There is no cafe at the gate. Eat and use a toilet in Padstow first. Leave spare bags in the car in town.
Between two and eight. Two is the minimum for the tour to run. If that number is not met, we will be in touch to move you.
Larger groups can still book. Ask when you book so we have boards and a second guide if the headcount needs it.
Ask when you book. We would rather match you to a board we know on this estuary than have you on a board that does not suit a two-hour paddle.
Your own wetsuit is fine. A buoyancy aid from us is still part of how the tour is run, even if you bring your own board.
No. The gate is a trailer on a residential road, not a beach base. Use the toilets in Padstow before you walk down.
If the session moves to Harlyn Bay, toilets and food sit in the beach car park there. That is one reason we ask you to keep your phone on.

We bought this for our children and their partners. Chris was absolutely brilliant with them all and they had a great time. Would definitely book again and highly recommend!
Chris the guide was absolutely lovely. Calm and supportive and judged making the adventure the right level of fun and excitement.
A great experience from start to finish. Very knowledgeable and welcoming instructors - despite being in open water, they helped with a diabetic hypo with ease and professionalism. They both helped each group member if they had fears or wanted to complete obstacle again. A really really great day, lovely…
Fantastic coasteering session with Reece Harlyne bay really enjoyed ourselves, thank you very much.
Chris was brilliant, took us through the process step by step and gave us the confidence to stand up on the board. Highly recommended

The whole booking of the introduction to Paddle boarding was really good. Apart from double booking myself, but Kat was really helpful in sorting this out. The communication was excellent and gave us clear instructions on what to wear and bring. Chris who did our session was so lovely, helpful…
