Experience the British countryside from a fresh perspective with a fully guided one-day motorcycle adventure ride. This 112-mile route combines mostly road riding with easy off-road sections, offering a balanced introduction to adventure riding. With all equipment and support included, the day is designed to build confidence and enjoyment for riders of varying experience levels.
The ride uses Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 motorcycles that are fully maintained and ready for varied terrain. The route covers 112 miles with approximately 80% on quiet roads and 20% on gentle off-road trails. These off-road sections include easy green lanes and gravel paths, chosen to be approachable even for riders new to trail riding. Throughout the day, the guide offers riding advice and adjusts the pace to the group’s ability, ensuring a relaxed and enjoyable experience.
Lunch is provided mid-ride, along with tea and coffee breaks to rest and recharge. The route highlights scenic British countryside lanes and provides a chance to ride off the beaten track without technical challenges. The ride starts and finishes at Unit 3, Old Water Yard, Curtis Road, Dorking, RH4 1DY, making it accessible from London and surrounding areas.
Starting in Dorking, Surrey, the ride takes advantage of the surrounding countryside’s quiet roads and easy off-road tracks. Dorking’s position near the Surrey Hills provides a gateway to some of the most enjoyable riding lanes in the South East. The route moves through rural Hampshire and nearby areas, chosen to showcase varied landscapes and accessible trails.
The meeting point is a well-equipped base just outside the town centre, offering secure parking and easy access to local amenities. The surrounding area offers a mix of forest tracks, green lanes, and minor roads ideal for dual-purpose motorcycles, ensuring a smooth and interesting ride throughout the day.
Participants must be aged 24 or over and hold a full motorcycle licence. Some road riding experience is required, though no prior off-road experience is necessary, as the route avoids technical terrain. Instructors adapt the ride pace and guidance to accommodate all skill levels, making it suitable for beginners and those returning to riding.
Solo bookings are welcome, and the session requires a minimum of three riders to run. Once minimum numbers are reached, participants will be notified so they can organise their travel. All necessary equipment, including the bike and fuel, is provided.
The team behind these rides are professional motorcycle instructors who rediscovered their passion for riding through off-road and adventure experiences. Inspired by a trip from London to Morocco, they developed a love for trail riding and now share that enthusiasm with others.
They combine expert knowledge with a relaxed and friendly approach, ensuring riders feel supported without pressure. Their extensive experience means the rides are carefully planned for enjoyment and safety, using well-maintained motorcycles and thoughtfully chosen routes. The inclusive pricing covers all essentials, allowing riders to focus fully on the experience.
No, there are no additional charges to worry about. Everything you need for the day is included in the package. This covers the bike hire, helmet, full protective gear, and insurance. A pub lunch is also part of the package, so you won’t need to bring extra money unless you want to buy additional drinks or snacks.
The pricing is set up to be all-inclusive so you can just focus on riding. You won’t be asked to pay extra for clothing, kit upgrades or safety equipment, and nothing is charged on the day unless you've made a prior arrangement for something specific outside the standard offering.
Yes, all the essential riding gear is supplied. This includes helmets, gloves, waterproof layers (if needed), enduro jackets and trousers, goggles, knee and elbow armour, and boots. The gear provided is high quality and specifically designed for off-road riding, so you'll be properly kitted out no matter the weather.
You’re welcome to bring your own kit, but it will need to be assessed by the team on the day to ensure it meets the required safety standards. The only things you need to bring are a t-shirt or base layer to wear under the armour – something you don’t mind getting dirty – and a pair of thick socks for the boots.
Spectating isn’t really possible due to the nature of the activity. Most of the riding takes place out in the countryside, away from the main base, and the trails aren’t in areas that are easy to access by foot or vehicle unless you're part of the guided session.
If you’re travelling with someone, they’re welcome to wait at the start point, but once the riding begins, there won't be practical opportunities for them to follow or observe. The focus is very much on giving riders a full day out on the trails, so anyone not taking part may prefer to explore the local area instead.
Yes, you will need to hold a valid motorcycle licence to take part. This is a requirement for all riders, and it’s not possible to join the day if you don’t have one. The session is designed for people who already know how to ride and want to experience trail and off-road riding in a supported environment.
That said, they do welcome a mix of experience levels – whether you're newly qualified or have years of road experience but are new to off-road terrain. The day is tailored to suit different abilities, so as long as you have a licence, the instructors will adapt the routes and pace to suit.
The session includes third-party cover, meaning you're insured for damage or injury caused to others while riding. Public liability insurance is also in place for added protection, covering accidents that may happen as part of the guided session.
However, personal accident insurance is not included, so if you want additional cover for yourself in case of injury, you’ll need to arrange that separately. It’s not mandatory, but some riders prefer to take out personal insurance for peace of mind.
You can expect to be on the bike for around 4 to 5 hours. This is broken up with a proper lunch stop at a pub, allowing time to refuel and rest before heading back out onto the trails.
The riding time is generous and well-paced, with a mix of trail conditions and terrain to keep things interesting. Instruction is given throughout the day as needed, but the emphasis is on making the most of the time on the bike rather than classroom-based sessions.
Yes, you're welcome to book on your own – you don’t need to be part of a group to reserve a spot. However, each session requires a minimum of three participants to go ahead. If you're the first or second person to book, the session will remain open for others to join until that minimum is met.
As soon as three riders are confirmed, you’ll receive a notification to let you know the session is officially running. This is the point when you can start arranging any transport or accommodation, knowing the day will definitely go ahead. If numbers aren’t reached straight away, the team will keep you updated and aim to group you into the next available session.
These rides are designed to suit a wide range of skill levels, from experienced road riders looking to try something new to those returning to motorcycling after a break. You do not need prior off-road experience, as the routes have been carefully chosen to avoid highly technical terrain. Instead, they feature gentle trails, gravel tracks and quiet lanes that provide variety without being overwhelming.
A full motorcycle licence is required, and participants must be at least 24 years old. During the ride, instructors offer support, tips and encouragement to help you feel confident on both road and trail sections. You’ll also benefit from riding as part of a small group, where the pace is adjusted to suit the ability of the riders on the day.
