The 4x4 GPS Challenge blends navigation, missions, and driving tuition into one high-energy event where teams compete to score the most points—ideal for stag and hen groups or workplace teams after something different.
Each team will be equipped with a handheld Garmin GPS terminal and a list of location-based missions. You’ll start on foot, using your device to track down your car keys and locate your Land Rover Discovery TD5. Once found, your BORDA-trained instructor will guide you through some essential off-road driving skills before you head off to complete your tasks. These include physical activities, puzzle-solving, and quirky mental challenges spread across the site.
The event runs as a competition, either between teams in your group or—if your group is smaller—against others booked in at the same time. Points are awarded based on performance at each mission site, and the team with the highest total wins a celebratory bottle of bubbly. For groups of 18 or more, the session can be adapted into a longer format, splitting teams across multiple activities in morning or afternoon slots to keep everyone active and engaged.
You’ll be navigating across a 40-acre private site set in woodland near Farnsfield, Nottinghamshire. The terrain is varied, with off-road driving tracks, wooded footpaths, and wide-open areas for team tasks. The setting keeps things interesting and gives your group space to work independently without feeling crowded.
Access is via Kirklington Road just off the A617 heading towards Newark, about 200 yards from the A614 roundabout. The postcode NG22 8BP brings you close, though we recommend using the provided directions, as sat navs can sometimes mislead. On-site staff and clear signage will help you get to the right place smoothly.
All participants must be 18 or over. No driving licence is required, as all driving takes place off-road and under instructor supervision. The session is suitable for all ability levels and is designed to encourage participation, not just competition.

Jez was a good “host”, helping us along the way. We hadn’t fully read the description of the activity and it turned out to be more physical then expected; however, it didn’t stop us enjoying ourselves - even the assault course was conquered by all.
