Bring the whole family together for a unique day on the water with the Family Super SUP. This oversized paddleboard is built for fun, laughter, and teamwork, making it a brilliant choice for kids and adults alike. From paddling past caves and spotting wildlife to silly games on board, this activity promises excitement for every age group.
Your experience starts at the centre, where you’ll be fitted with wetsuits, buoyancy aids, helmets and paddles in heated changing rooms. After a safety briefing tailored to your family, the group will head down a rocky path to one of Newquay’s coves, where the Super SUP will be waiting. The guides take things at a comfortable pace, making sure even the youngest members of the family feel secure before setting off.
Once on the water, you’ll paddle together as a team under the guidance of an instructor. The tour will take you along the coastline, past caves, tunnels, and cliffs that are home to seabirds and other marine life. Halfway through, the group will pause to play games designed for all ages – from SUP races to “King of the SUP” – before working together to paddle back towards shore. It’s the ideal mix of learning, adventure, and laughter, with something for everyone to enjoy.
The session takes place around Newquay Bay, an area full of sheltered coves, striking cliffs, and secret caves. It’s a place rich in pirate history and folklore, and your instructors will share some of these stories along the way. Families often see crabs, seals, and seabirds during the tour, with the occasional chance of spotting dolphins.
Newquay’s coastline is particularly suited to family groups thanks to its variety of calm bays and accessible launching points. Depending on tides and weather, instructors select the best spot to make sure conditions are safe and enjoyable.
This activity is designed for all skill levels, so no paddleboarding experience is required. Children as young as three can take part, as the pace and games are adjusted to suit the group.
All participants should be comfortable around water, and adults must accompany younger children. Instructors are skilled at working with families and will ensure everyone feels safe and supported.
This family-focused session combines safety, fun, and education. Instructors are experienced in teaching children and adults together, with a focus on building teamwork and confidence on the water. Alongside the excitement of games and paddling, kids are introduced to ocean safety and local wildlife in an engaging way.
After the activity, you’ll have access to heated changing rooms, hot showers, and secure storage. Free action photography means you’ll also leave with memories to share, and discount cards for local cafés and shops add a finishing touch to the day.
A Super SUP is a large stand up paddleboard designed to hold multiple people at once, making it perfect for groups and families who want to share the same board. Unlike traditional paddleboards which are built for one person, the Super SUP offers extra width and stability to allow several paddlers to balance and move together.
The experience is much more about teamwork than solo paddling. Everyone contributes to moving the board, steering, and keeping it steady. This makes it less about individual technique and more about group fun, cooperation, and laughter, as the board reacts to everyone’s combined efforts.
No previous experience is necessary to enjoy the Family Super SUP. The session is designed with beginners in mind, and your instructor will provide guidance on paddling, balance, and working together as a group before heading out onto the water.
Even if you’ve never stood on a paddleboard before, the larger size of the Super SUP makes it easier to find your footing. The emphasis is on having fun, so you’ll pick up the basics quickly and enjoy learning as a team in a relaxed setting.
Yes, the Family Super SUP is a family-friendly activity suitable for children from age 8 and above. The board is stable, and the instructor will always ensure that conditions are safe before setting off. It’s a great way for children to try paddleboarding while being supported by the rest of the group.
For younger paddlers, there’s also the option to sit or kneel on the board if they don’t feel confident standing. This flexibility means children can still join in the adventure, contribute to paddling, and enjoy the excitement of exploring caves and coves as part of the team.
Participants should wear swimwear or comfortable clothing that they don’t mind getting wet, along with a towel and dry clothes for after the session. Wetsuits and buoyancy aids are provided, ensuring you’ll be warm and safe throughout your time on the water.
It’s also a good idea to bring sunscreen, a bottle of water, and footwear you don’t mind getting wet, such as old trainers or water shoes. If you wear glasses, consider bringing a strap to secure them, as the movement of the board and splashes of water could knock them off.
Falling in is part of the fun and completely safe, as everyone wears a buoyancy aid and the instructor is nearby at all times. Getting back on is straightforward, and your group will often help pull each other back onto the board, which adds to the sense of teamwork.
The instructor will show you the easiest way to climb back onto the Super SUP before setting out. Most people end up enjoying the splash and laughing about it, so falling in becomes a light-hearted part of the experience rather than something to worry about.
The activity is suitable for most fitness levels and doesn’t require exceptional strength or endurance. Because everyone is paddling together, the effort is shared, making it less tiring than solo paddleboarding. The large board also offers more stability, which reduces the strain on balance.
That said, the session will still give you a gentle workout. You’ll be using your arms to paddle, your core to stay balanced, and your legs to move around the board. It’s active, but always at a pace that suits the group, with plenty of time for breaks and fun.
Yes, the Super SUP is perfect for group exploration, and your instructor will guide you along Newquay’s coast to see caves, gullies, and coves that aren’t always accessible from land. This makes the experience feel like an adventure, as you work together to steer the board into these hidden areas.
Depending on sea conditions, the group may paddle into small caves or visit sheltered spots where you can pause, take in the scenery, and enjoy being on the water together. Safety is always prioritised, so the route will be adapted to the group and weather on the day.
