Give your family an unforgettable double adventure with a supersized SUP tour combined with snorkelling along Newquay’s coastline. This 2-hour session is suitable for all ages and abilities, allowing everyone to paddle, dive, play games, and explore together, all under the guidance of expert instructors.
Your experience begins at the centre above Towan Beach, where the family will be kitted out with warm wetsuits, buoyancy aids, snorkels, helmets, paddles, and the giant Super SUP. After an energetic warm-up and a full ocean safety briefing, you’ll practise paddle strokes and basic manoeuvres before heading out on the water.
Once on the SUP, the family works as a team to navigate around bays, rocky outcrops, and coves, encountering caves and nooks while your instructor shares fascinating tales of smuggling, shipwrecks, and local history. You’ll also enjoy playful competitions on the anchored board, with the SUP doubling as a diving platform for games like ‘King or Queen of the SUP’.
The snorkelling section allows the family to explore the underwater ecosystem, including seahorse breeding sites, fish, crabs, seals, starfish, and lobsters. You can also paddle to Cribbar Reef and Little Fistral Cove, where rock pools and lagoons provide opportunities to observe marine life while taking in scenic coastal views.
The session takes place along Newquay’s bays, coves, and headlands, including Towan Beach, the Gazzle, Cribbar Reef, and Little Fistral Cove. These locations offer a combination of sheltered waters, rocky coastal features, and abundant marine wildlife, ideal for family adventures and safe exploration.
The route passes both well-known and semi-hidden spots, allowing families to enjoy diverse scenery and habitats. From sandy beaches to rocky reef areas, participants experience the best of Newquay’s natural and historical coastal environment.
No previous SUP or snorkelling experience is required. Participants should be comfortable in the water and able to follow instructor guidance throughout the session.
Children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult. All safety equipment is provided, ensuring a secure and enjoyable experience for every family member.
The centre is led by experienced, insured instructors who prioritise safety, learning, and fun. Families receive practical tuition, encouragement, and personalised support while exploring Newquay’s coastline up close.
Facilities include heated changing rooms, hot showers, lockers, and secure storage. The centre also offers equipment hire for extending your day and has back-up options for adverse weather conditions, so your adventure goes ahead whenever possible.
No prior experience is required for this session. Our expert instructors provide a full safety briefing, guide you through all the equipment, and teach the basic paddle strokes, manoeuvres, and snorkelling techniques. Everyone from beginners to those with some water sports experience will feel confident and supported.
