Cycle through the leafy avenues of Villa Borghese and Villa Ada, discovering historic palaces, fountains, and open-air art along the way. You will also explore the unusual architecture of the Coppedè district, a hidden gem in the city that blends styles to create a truly unique atmosphere. This tour balances nature, history, and architecture in a fun, relaxed e-bike ride.
Start in Villa Borghese, riding along tree-lined paths past the National Gallery of Modern Art and fountains like the Sea Horses. Your guide will share stories of historic families and local traditions while pointing out hidden details and art that you might otherwise miss. The gentle e-bike pace lets you enjoy the surroundings and take photos without hurrying.
You continue through Villa Ada, a vast green space with historic villas and WWII bunkers. The ride moves onto quieter city streets to reach the Coppedè district, where you’ll admire whimsical architecture that fuses classical, medieval, and Art Nouveau styles. Your guide will explain the symbolism and history behind the unusual facades, giving context to the buildings you pass.
The tour finishes at Piazza del Popolo, leaving you with a sense of having experienced a side of Rome most visitors never see. You will have plenty of time to ask questions, capture images, and reflect on the mix of nature, history, and urban charm you’ve explored.
The tour takes you through two of Rome’s largest historic parks, Villa Borghese and Villa Ada, both rich in heritage, art, and gardens. These areas provide safe, mostly traffic-free cycling paths that let you enjoy the city’s green spaces and historic landmarks without the usual city congestion.
Cycling through the Coppedè district, you enter a tucked-away neighbourhood of imaginative architecture. The streets feature intricate façades, sculpted details, and small squares that feel almost like stepping into a different world. This part of the ride showcases Rome’s urban creativity and adds contrast to the park-based sections of the tour.
You must be comfortable riding an e-bike and able to manage short stretches of regular city roads, including occasional crossings with traffic. A basic level of fitness and confidence on a bike is required to enjoy the full route at a comfortable pace.
Closed-toe shoes and casual outdoor clothing are recommended. You should also bring water and be prepared for a mix of park trails and quiet urban streets. Safety briefings are provided before departure, and your guide will check that everyone is ready to ride.
Local guides provide a personalised experience, sharing insights into the history, art, and stories behind the villas, gardens, and architectural gems. Small group sizes mean you can ask questions, explore details, and enjoy a more intimate tour than typical city bike experiences.
E-bikes, helmets, and locks are included to ensure a safe and comfortable ride. The itinerary combines green spaces, historic landmarks, and unique urban architecture, offering a well-rounded introduction to a side of Rome many visitors miss.
Light rain doesn’t affect the running of the tour, so the activity goes ahead as planned. Participants are offered complimentary waterproof ponchos to keep them comfortable throughout, and the guide adjusts the pace if needed to suit the conditions. Many groups enjoy the experience just as much in gentle rain, especially with the extra layer provided.
More severe conditions, such as heavy rain or thunderstorms, mean the tour cannot run safely. If this happens, the session is cancelled and the full amount paid is refunded. Safety is the guiding factor in these decisions, and updates are passed on as early as possible so participants know exactly what to expect.
We welcome a wide range of ages on our e-bike tours, and the equipment provided is matched carefully to each rider. Younger children can join using either a rear baby seat for ages 1–5 (up to 20 kg) or a trailer bike for ages 6–9, both of which are securely attached to an adult’s e-bike. From age 10 onward, children may ride their own e-bike if they have solid independent cycling experience and are at least 140 cm tall, though we generally recommend independent riding from age 11.
There are also a few upper limits to keep everyone safe and comfortable. The maximum recommended age for participants is 75, and the weight limit for any rider or equipment setup is 100 kg. These guidelines help ensure each bike performs as intended and that every participant enjoys a smooth and controlled ride.
Our regular tours operate with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 8 participants, which keeps each outing comfortable and well-paced. These small-group limits apply to standard daily departures, ensuring riders receive plenty of guidance and support from the team throughout the experience.
For larger parties, the capacity expands significantly. The centre is fully equipped to organise multiple groups at the same time and can handle single bookings far above the usual numbers, with the ability to accommodate up to 80 participants in one coordinated session. This structure allows big groups to enjoy the same quality of service while moving through the route smoothly and safely.
The tour is mostly easy, using park paths and quiet streets with short stretches of urban roads. E-bikes make the ride manageable for a wide range of riders, but you should be confident controlling a bike and able to navigate light traffic when necessary. The guide sets a pace suitable for the group and provides frequent rest stops.
Paths in Villa Borghese and Villa Ada are smooth, while Coppedè streets may have minor uneven surfaces. The combination of parks and city streets ensures the ride is engaging but not overly demanding.
In Villa Borghese, you’ll pass historic villas, sculptures, and fountains, including the Sea Horses Fountain and the Temple of Diana. Villa Ada offers wider green spaces, historic villas, and a glimpse of WWII-era bunkers. Both parks feature shady tree-lined paths and scenic spots ideal for photos.
Your guide will highlight art, history, and nature along the way, pointing out hidden corners, architectural details, and landmarks that are easy to miss when walking or cycling independently.
Coppedè is an eclectic neighbourhood with architecture that blends medieval, classical, and Art Nouveau styles. The streets feature elaborate façades, arches, and sculptural details, giving a surreal feel to this hidden area of Rome.
You’ll learn about the history and symbolism behind the buildings, gaining insight into a part of the city few tourists ever see. The contrast with the green park areas makes the district a memorable highlight of the tour.
The tour lasts about 3.5 hours at a relaxed pace that allows you to take in the sights, stop for photos, and enjoy your surroundings. The e-bikes help with inclines and longer stretches, so the ride feels comfortable even for those not used to cycling long distances.
The guide adjusts the speed to the group, ensuring no one is left behind while keeping the tour flowing smoothly.
