Combine an off-road buggy ride across the Red Dunes with an evening at a desert camp, complete with a barbecue dinner and live entertainment. Hotel pickup across Dubai is included, making this a full evening out rather than just the driving itself.
After pickup, the group heads out to the Red Dunes for a guided buggy ride, weaving through the sand with stops for photos along the way before moving on to sandboarding on one of the steeper slopes. From there, the convoy continues to a desert camp for the evening, where dinner and entertainment take over from the driving.
The camp segment is more relaxed than the buggy ride, giving guests a chance to sit down, eat and watch the evening's entertainment before the drive back into the city.
The buggy driving takes place in the Red Dunes around Al Madam, an area known for its steep, colour-shifting sand that's popular for off-road activities across Dubai. The dunes here offer enough variation in terrain to make the drive interesting without straying into the more extreme formations found elsewhere in the desert.
After the driving, the group moves on to a desert camp set up for evening visitors, with seating, a dining area and space for the entertainment that follows dinner. It's a different pace from the dune driving, built around relaxing after dark rather than covering ground.
No previous buggy or off-road driving experience is needed, though drivers should be at least 13 years old and reasonably comfortable with movement and vibration over uneven ground for the driving section of the day.
Guests with back, neck or heart conditions, or who are pregnant, should check with their own doctor before booking given the nature of dune driving. Comfortable, dust-friendly clothing is recommended for both the driving and the camp portion of the evening.
The route through the dunes is chosen by guides who know the terrain well, keeping the driving varied without pushing beginners into anything too demanding, while the camp segment is set up to give guests a proper chance to unwind after the activity rather than rushing straight back to the city.
Combining the two into one evening means you get both the active part of the day and a relaxed finish with food and entertainment, without needing to arrange transport or timing between the two yourself.
