Spend a full day exploring the red dunes outside Dubai, riding a quad bike across rolling sand before settling into an evening camp with dinner and live entertainment. Pickup is arranged from hotels around the city, so the day begins right where you are staying and ends with a relaxed drop-off after dark.
Guides collect groups from Dubai hotels in the late afternoon and drive out to the open desert at Al Madam, where quad bikes are lined up and ready to go. After a safety briefing, riders head out across the dunes in a guided convoy, stopping for photos and a short camel ride before continuing to sandboard down the softer slopes nearby.
The evening winds down at a desert camp, where a buffet dinner and traditional entertainment bring the day to a close before the drive back to the city.
Al Madam sits within the red dune belt that stretches between Dubai and Sharjah, an area known for its steep, wind-shaped sand ridges and wide open horizons. The colour and texture of the dunes here differ from the flatter desert closer to the city, making it a popular spot for quad biking and other off-road activities.
Beyond the riding area, the wider desert region is dotted with camel farms, low scrub vegetation and the occasional Bedouin-style camp, giving a sense of how the landscape has been used for generations. The drive out from Dubai passes the last of the city's suburbs before the terrain opens into uninterrupted sand, a contrast that adds to the feeling of getting away from the everyday for an afternoon and evening.
No previous quad biking experience is needed for this outing. Guides run through the controls and basic riding technique before setting off, and the pace of the group ride is kept manageable so newcomers can settle in quickly. A reasonable level of fitness helps, since riders sit upright and use their arms and legs to steady the bike over uneven ground, but this is not a demanding physical challenge.
Comfortable, closed-toe shoes and clothing you don't mind getting a little sandy are recommended, along with sunglasses or goggles for the ride itself. Anyone with back or neck problems, or who is pregnant, should check with the team before booking, as the terrain does involve some bumps and vibration.
Guides who run this route know the Al Madam dunes well, from the safest lines for beginners to the spots that give the best views for photos. Quad bikes are checked and maintained between groups, and the ride is kept at a pace that suits mixed-ability groups rather than rushing everyone through.
The evening camp is treated as part of the experience rather than an afterthought, with a proper sit-down dinner and live shows rather than a quick stop on the way home. Combining the riding, the camel stop, sandboarding and the camp in one day gives a rounded taste of the desert without needing to arrange several separate trips.

About the centre
Dubai
Based in Dubai, this team specialises in desert safari experiences across the red dunes, combining jeep rides, quad bikes, dune buggies, camel stops, and evening camp dinners. Guests are collected from hotels, villas, and apartments in Dubai, Sharjah, and Ajman, so the day starts from where you are staying rather than a fixed meeting point in the city.
Activities are led by guides who know the dune routes and camp programmes well, with equipment provided for the adventure elements. Whether you want a high-energy buggy run or a fuller evening with dinner and shows, the focus is a clear, well-paced desert day from pickup through to return.
