Have a go at clay pigeon shooting on covered layouts set across a spacious Warwickshire countryside site. A qualified instructor stays with you throughout, so first-timers and mixed groups can enjoy a safe, competitive session without any prior experience.
You start with a clear safety briefing and tuition on stance, gun handling and how to track a flying clay. Your instructor stays close while you take your first shots, building confidence before the pace picks up.
Targets include driven clays, crossing birds, rabbits and other sporting presentations across the layouts. Covered stands keep you shooting comfortably, while friends can sit nearby and keep score.
As the session unfolds, scores are often tallied for a friendly top-gun style finish. You leave having broken clays, learned the basics properly, and enjoyed a classic target sport in open countryside.
The shooting ground sits on a large rural site near Warwick, with woodland edges, open fields and purpose-built layouts that have hosted shooting for generations.
Being close to major roads yet surrounded by countryside makes it easy to reach for a half-day out, whether you are local or travelling in for a group celebration.
You need to be at least 13 years old. Under-16s must be supervised by an adult for the whole session, and groups with several under-16s should bring at least two adults.
No shotgun licence or prior experience is required for these instructor-led experience sessions. Wear outdoor clothing and closed footwear, and mention if you would prefer a lighter 20-gauge gun when you book.
Instruction comes from experienced CPSA or APSI coaches who are used to mixed-ability groups and keep the focus on safety without draining the fun.
Covered layouts, spectator seating and a clear shot structure make this an easy win for first-timers, families and teams who want a memorable countryside activity together.

No. Sessions for newcomers run under instructor supervision, so you do not need a shotgun licence of your own to take part in an experience session.
If you already hold a licence and prefer regular club-style shoots, ask the team which open layouts and times suit licence holders best.
Participants must be at least 13 years old. Anyone under 16 must be fully supervised by an adult throughout the session for safety.
If several people in your group are under 16, the team asks for at least two adults to accompany the group for the whole visit.
No previous shooting experience is needed. Your instructor covers safe gun handling, stance and how to follow the clay before you take your shots.
Lighter 20-gauge shotguns can be available for smaller or younger shooters if you mention this preference when you book.
Wear comfortable outdoor clothing and sturdy closed footwear. Layouts are covered, but you will still be outdoors walking between stands and watching others shoot.
Bring a waterproof jacket in case the weather turns, and avoid open sandals or flip-flops on the ground.
Shotguns, cartridges for your chosen shot package, and compulsory eye and hearing protection are all included in the experience.
You will also have tuition from an experienced CPSA or APSI instructor who stays with the group for the full session.
Plan for around an hour on site for a typical experience session, including the safety briefing, shooting time and a friendly scored finish.
Exact timing can vary with group size and how many shots you have chosen in your package, so allow a little buffer either side.

Spectators should stay in the designated areas, keep clear of the firing line, and follow any instructions from the instructor on the day.
Clay shooting works well for friends, families and corporate groups. Scores are often kept and a top-gun style finish is a popular way to wrap up.
Tell the team your group size when you enquire so they can plan layouts, shot packages and timing around your party.
