Intermediate young surfers who already have some experience on whitewater or beginner reef waves can now progress in a more challenging environment. This session allows children to ride a variety of wave types, from smooth cruising waves to steeper sections ideal for practising turns and manoeuvres. Each wave offers a controlled, safe setting for building skills, confidence, and enjoyment in the water.
You’ll start with a land-based introduction where instructors explain the waves, safety procedures, and key techniques for each type of ride. Wetsuits and boards are fitted to ensure comfort and safety, and instructors demonstrate take-offs, trimming, and basic manoeuvres before heading into the water.
Once in the water, the Cruiser wave allows young surfers to practice smooth, controlled rides, focusing on stance, balance, and flow. Coaches provide personalised advice, helping each child build confidence while reinforcing safe surfing habits.
Progressing to the Turns wave, children encounter medium-speed sections that challenge them to execute turns, cutbacks, and re-entries. Instructors encourage experimentation in a structured setting, giving feedback on technique and positioning. The variety of waves ensures an engaging, rewarding session that leaves children excited to return and continue developing their skills.
