Laggan Canyon offers a mix of natural slides, scrambles, jumps and optional abseils in a beautiful Highland setting. This guided experience is adapted to suit your group’s comfort level, whether it’s your first time canyoning or you’ve done it before. Located just outside the Cairngorms National Park, it’s a hands-on way to experience Scotland’s wild water features.
The session begins with a welcome from your guide, who will explain what to expect and go through the safety kit. After getting into your wetsuits and equipment, there’s a short walk to the canyon entry point. From there, the descent follows the Allt na h-Uamha burn, where your guide will lead you through a series of water features including slides, scrambles, plunge pools, and optional jumps. Each feature is introduced with guidance and support, and you’ll always have the choice to walk around anything you’re not comfortable with.
Throughout the descent, your guide will tailor the activity to the group’s confidence and ability, adapting the route to make sure everyone is having a good time and staying safe. There’s plenty of opportunity to challenge yourself if you want to, but there’s no pressure to complete every feature. Once at the bottom, the group will exit the canyon and return to the meeting point where you’ll change out of your wetsuits and finish the session with a warm drink provided by your guide.
This centre was founded by two experienced white water professionals who built the business from a shared passion for guiding and adventure. Bonnie’s early love of white water led to a career in the outdoors, with years spent working internationally as a guide and expedition leader. Along with Jen, who shares her enthusiasm for river sports, they launched the business with the aim of delivering personal, high-quality adventures shaped by years of first-hand experience.
Every session is run by fully trained, knowledgeable guides who understand the balance between challenge, support and enjoyment. Group sizes are kept small to maintain quality, and all activities are tailored to your needs rather than delivered as a one-size-fits-all experience. The business also takes sustainability seriously, using compostable cups, eco-friendly detergents, and supporting tree planting efforts through Trees for Life.
