Take the next step in your windsurfing with a progression session on the Costa del Sol. This lesson is designed to turn your first experience into controlled, confident sailing with more consistency on the water.
This session builds directly on your first lesson, focusing on improving consistency and control rather than just getting started. After a short recap, you’ll head straight onto the water where the emphasis is on repetition and refining technique.
With increased familiarity, you’ll begin to relax into your movements and spend more time sailing rather than resetting. Instructors provide ongoing feedback, helping you adjust your stance, sail position, and direction more effectively. You’ll start to feel more in control of where the board is going, rather than reacting to it.
As the session progresses, you’ll work on linking movements together more smoothly, including longer runs and more controlled direction changes. This is where windsurfing starts to feel more natural, setting you up for faster sailing and more advanced techniques in future sessions.
The session takes place in Estepona, along the coastline between Estepona and Marbella. The area offers reliable wind and consistent conditions, making it well suited for progression.
You’ll meet at Calle de Levante in the Benamara area, near the beach by Asociación Torre de Baños. The setup provides direct access to the water, allowing you to maximise time on the board. The open coastline offers space for longer runs and more controlled sailing.
Participants should have completed a beginner windsurfing session or have equivalent experience. You should be able to stand on the board, pull up the sail, and sail short distances in light wind conditions.
You should also be comfortable in the water and able to swim while wearing a buoyancy aid. A moderate level of fitness is recommended, as you’ll be active throughout the session.
The consistent wind and warm conditions on the Costa del Sol make it easier to progress quickly, with fewer interruptions and more time spent actually sailing.
Combined with a structured progression system and adaptable equipment, this session helps you move forward efficiently. The focus on technique and repetition ensures you build a solid foundation for more advanced windsurfing.
This session is designed for participants who have already completed a beginner lesson or have similar experience. You should be able to stand on the board and sail short distances.
