A full-day private experience that blends high canopy zipline routes through rainforest with a slower afternoon spent in volcanic hot springs. The journey moves between two very different environments, starting in the treetops above forest valleys and ending in naturally heated pools surrounded by tropical gardens.
The day begins with a private pickup from San Jose and a drive towards the Arenal Volcano region, where the landscape shifts from rural countryside into dense rainforest and volcanic terrain. On arrival at the adventure park, you’ll be fitted with safety equipment and given a full briefing before starting the zipline course. The experience includes multiple canopy lines, with sections that pass above forested valleys and open viewpoints, plus an elevated tower that leads into longer cable runs with wider scenery across the surrounding area.
Once the zipline activity is complete, the journey continues by private transfer to the hot springs location. On arrival, a buffet lunch is served, giving time to pause before entering the thermal pools. The afternoon is then flexible, allowing you to move between different pools and relaxation areas at your own pace. Later in the day, the return journey to San Jose begins, travelling back through changing landscapes as the day winds down.
The experience takes place in the Arenal Volcano region, an area defined by volcanic activity, rainforest growth and rich biodiversity. The surroundings include forested hills, open valleys and geothermal features that shape the wider landscape.
The zipline course operates within a private forest reserve designed for canopy-level adventure, while the hot springs are located closer to the base of the volcano. Here, naturally heated water flows into a series of pools set within landscaped gardens and tropical vegetation.
No prior zipline experience is needed as full safety instruction and equipment are provided before the activity begins. Participants are guided through each stage of the course by trained staff.
Basic mobility is required for walking between platforms, climbing stairs and managing uneven terrain within the course. Comfort with heights is also important due to the elevated nature of the zipline sections.
Private day itineraries are designed to remove the need for large group schedules, allowing each part of the experience to run at a steady and comfortable pace. Transitions between activities are planned to keep the day smooth and unhurried.
Guides support the entire experience, from canopy safety procedures through to time spent at the hot springs. The combination of rainforest adventure and geothermal relaxation creates two contrasting but well-balanced environments in a single day.
No previous experience is needed as full instruction is provided before the activity begins. The guides explain how the equipment works and how to move safely between each section of the course.
Throughout the zipline experience, trained staff remain on hand at each platform to assist with take-off and landing. The course is designed to be accessible while still offering varied terrain and height changes.
The experience includes seven separate zipline cables set across different sections of rainforest canopy. Each line varies in length and elevation, creating a mix of shorter and longer runs.
There is also a high tower section that acts as a launch point for one of the longest lines. From here, the route opens out across forested valleys with wider views of the surrounding landscape.
Safety is prioritised throughout the experience, with certified guides managing all equipment and procedures. Before starting, participants receive a full briefing and are fitted with harnesses and helmets.
The equipment is regularly inspected and the system is designed for controlled progression through each section. Guides remain positioned throughout the course to support participants at all times.
Once the canopy activity is complete, you travel by private transport to the hot springs area. A buffet lunch is served shortly after arrival.
After lunch, the rest of the afternoon is free to spend in the thermal pools and surrounding relaxation areas. You can move between different pools with varying temperatures at your own pace.
Comfortable clothing that allows movement is recommended, along with closed shoes or trainers. Long trousers are preferred for safety and comfort during harness use.
A light waterproof layer is useful as weather conditions can change quickly in the rainforest. Swimwear is required for the hot springs section later in the day.
Yes, the pools are heated by geothermal activity linked to the Arenal Volcano. The water is channelled into multiple pools with different temperature ranges.
The site is developed with gardens, pathways and seating areas to allow easy movement between pools. It is designed for both relaxation and social use.
Yes, a buffet lunch is included and served at the hot springs location after the zipline activity. The timing allows for a natural break between the two parts of the day.
Additional drinks or snacks may be available to purchase on site. Dietary requirements can usually be accommodated with advance notice.
